So far, everything has been going fine. I'm ahead on the word count goals (although slightly behind on my own personal word count goals), and I haven't hated anything I've written yet.
But this morning, things really clicked. I've been writing a 2,000 word scene since I got up, and having just read it back, I'm not only really pleased with it, but I don't think I'm going to have to change any of it. All of my other scenes have bits of them hightlighted for rewrites after November because I'm not entirely happy with them, but not this one!
I'm not sure if this proves that I'm better at writing early in the morning (I started at 8am today), or if I'm just finally getting into the swing of things.
Is anyone else getting through small hurdles like this? :)

Hmm... most of my novel is a pile of drivel and will need HEAVY editing... but for some reason I have a really strong feeling that my writing is going to be much, much better in future because I've learned when to shelve the goddamn inner critic.
----------I once read that if you give yourself permission to write badly, what you write might actually be better than you were expecting. Which I suppose is one of the biggest joys of NaNo. XD

Congratulations, Bug! I think most of what I've written is not that good, but it's down on paper. Much easier to edit the words on paper than thoughts in the head.
My small hurdle is that after 8,000 words, I think I've finally found a story worth telling. But those first 8,000 words are staying in there for the word count!!! Probably end up being first two pages of the edited version. Or, who knows. I may find an even better story in the next 8,000. Gawd, this is fun. Just letting it flow.

Congrats! I myself will need to edit the first few chapters HEAVILY, but I'm almost to the point where the story really takes off. Which is good, because then I have a feeling the writing's going to get better.
