Hi there, just left my apartment for too much noise, headed for a café nearby, just to easily hit the 8k there – and to meet Austrian novelist Robert Menasse who had a second look at me and my iBook; we've met 20 years ago when he did a lecture of one of his first novels. Should I approach & ask him about my current question of a 'Michelangelo without hands', or an 'artist without a work'? He's a graduated philiospher, specialized on Hegel's esthetics – he would have known where that topos appeared first. Well, kind of ridiculous, isn't it? And, once I've started writing, it is not an essential question for myself and my novel.
So I just take it as a coincidence, and a friendly omen to meet one pretty famous novelist while I make my first go at fiction writing.
Everyone's a winner, baby, that's for sure.

I also just crossed the 8k mark. That's 16%, almost a sixth of the book (or at least it will be a sixth in another 333 words. Yes, I have a maths degree, now sadly underutilised and massively devalued :)
