Give your fingers and hands a break and join your fellow scribblers at Lockview Lounge, 7 p.m., tonight (Wednesday) for the official AkroNaNo Kickoff Party.
We'll raffle off a copy of "No Plot, No Problem - A Low Stress, High Velocity Guide to Writing a Novel in 30 Days" by NaNo founder Chris Baty. You'll also get an official NaNo sticker - who doesn't love a sticker? Consider it a gold star on your first week of work!
We'll also share one or two quick writing prompts to help you accumulate a few more words before the end of the night. There's WiFi at Lockview so bring your laptop if you'd like. Or bring your notebook, pen, or whatever writing device you prefer.
Shannon and I will pull together a table at the back of the restaurant.
Write-ins begin next week -- we'll have some writerly type goodies to give away at each write-in as well.

I just wanted to post a quick note to say I enjoyed the kick-off get together. It was nice meeting each of you, and hearing about your NaNo projects and experiences. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that I'm not the only NaNoNoobie in the group!

I hope the meetup went well last night--I tried to get out of choir practice earlier, but ended up actually staying later, and then dealing with some stomach cramps--by the time I had made enough rude noises and got everything resolved, it was 9:30!
