I went to the main "shout-out" forum this morning and my excitement at reaching 11k in three days was quickly deflated by the titles I read there ... one of which was 25k! Clearly some people are single, childless, don't eat or sleep, and are adept at manipulating the space-time continuum.
Anyway!
First - I wanted to extend a deeply grateful shout-out to Violet for making my unbelievably spiffy new banner (first year I've ever had one, I feel almost official now!) ... you are the bomb-diggedy, and I'm not just saying that because I love your shoes.
Second - Here's an enthusiastic shout-out to Miri and Danie for keeping me on my toes and at my keys ... I promised myself I would keep up with them this year and they're giving me quite a run for my money. Since I am the most non-competitive person I know in every other area of my life, this is unusual and exhilarating and fun. Thanks, guys!

I've got to echo the shout-out to Violet - I LURVE my banner! Thanks, Violet!
And congrats to you, gleefulpagan, for kicking my word-count butt! There have been days when I didn't want to write (already!) and I considered just taking a day off since I've got some padding... and then I looked at your word count sitting up there above mine, and I had to write! A little competition is kind of fun, isn't it? And, of course, to Miri Mirror and meannah, whose word-counts are also keeping me going!
If you check out our stats, you'll notice that, as a region, we're kicking some serious butt! Of those signed up for the scan post, we're averaging over 8k right now!

Our regional wordcount, as Dani said, is AWESOME! I have to also say that I am so proud of my husband, Mitchell, for reaching over 12K so far and there's no sign of him letting up. It seems we have another sure winner for the 50K AND he's really enjoying himself this year!
Keep on writing everyone. If you get stumped, toss in the Traveling Shovel of Death mentioned in Procrastination Station on the home page. If needed, I have the perfect scene planned already...

I think the Travelling Shovel of Death (TSoD) just might show up in my novel, but it will be a Chinese version.....

Well, seeing as I just toddled over to the scanpost only to realize, CRAP, I'm still in fourth!, I believe shout-outs are in order.
HUGE shout-out to Tanya, Danie, and Nancy for giving me such a run for my money this year. I WILL surpass you (however briefly it may be...), but you're certainly making it difficult. And to Heather, word-warrior extraordinaire.
Also to my dear mother, who keeps me on my toes on an hour-by-hour basis.

Wanted to Give Tanya a shout out. Thanks to her encouragement I feel as if I have accomplished the world with the word count. Has even inspired me to push on to the point that I have gotten the padded to get close to a day ahead which will so help when Sunday comes since I will be working a double and it's a hard day for me to do much of anything pass that! Thank you so much Tanya!!!!!!!

I'm really struggling with my story. I'm not clicking with my characters or my ....well anything like I thought I would. Despite the outline, I'm still having a heck of a go of this. But! Today! Today I broke 8k and I'm really pleased with myself for that :)
Also, you guys are majorly welcome for the banners, I'm so glad you like them! I don't need to do anymore this year (already have enough distractions with RL :( ) but next year right before November I'll be making banners again for those who would like them :)

For once I was grateful for my caffeine induced, I'm trying to go to sleep now instead, brain. I wrote myself into a big hole and even had the characters question the problem. Well thankfully, instead of allowing me to sleep, one of my other characters had a change of self, which makes her better ... and helps fill the gaping whole that would have screwed up a good fifty pages of direction. Whew!!! Thank you diet Dr. Pepper!!!
