I don't mean to repost... or perhaps I do... BUT! One of our fellow writers just gave me the heads up that my previous post had an unfortunate title. (One on the main boards... and a running joke... but possibly not known by all.)
So here it is again, just in case any of you hesitated about clicking on my previous post thinking it was an advertisement, or SPAM...
I don't know if any of you have seen the thread 'Free Shrimp Dinner' on the main forums... but several NaNo'ers are making that dream a reality... whether in purchasing gift cards and giving them out, or passing out 10 free dinners from Captain D's. (This started out as a little 'joke' but has escalated.)
I was going to offer a $25.00 gift card to two people on that forum who not only wins NaNo, but has the best novel synopsis. (In my opinion.)
But I changed my mind...
Instead of offering it up to the normal threads... I'm offering it to the Knoxville, Tennessee NaNo'ers. (Or surrounding area... but must belong to our group.)
SO!!!!
This is the deal...
If you wish to be considered, please drop me a NaNo message and I will keep you in a folder. At the end of the month, I will check to see if you've won NaNo... plus critique your synopsis. (Trust me... this is really important as well. Your query/synopsis is what attracts agents/publishers.) If both criteria are met, then two of you will win a $25.00 Visa gift card so that you can go out and celebrate!!! (It doesn't have to be a shrimp dinner... you could use it wherever you wish.)
This is an incentive for you to write, write, write!

Wow, how generous!
I hadn't seen those posts before on the main forum before, but I have now. I guess its a running joke from previous years? Pretty cool that some people are actually doing free shrimp dinners!

Yeah, somewhere along the line one of the NaNo 'biggies' (not sure if it was Chris Baty or not) had mentioned 'Free Shrimp Dinners' for doing NaNo. Of course, it was a joke. But since then, NaNo'ers have been wondering... "Where's my free shrimp dinner?"
So several of us are offering them this year, just for fun... and for incentive!
So if you'd like to be considered, just drop me a line. I'll put you in my folder. :)
There's no strings attached... except that you have to finish writing! :D

Gosh! A generous offer!
I'd like to be considered. I was planning to treat myself to a movie and popcorn when I won, but shrimp sounds much more elegant...
Best of luck to you this month! Jackie (actually in Norris, but I'm in Knoxville at least twice a week.)

May I throw my hat into the ring as well? I never know quite what to put for summaries / synopses, so a critique would be quite nice (even if I don't win any shrimp dinners).

I agree with emmadaiou28 (sorry if I misspelled your name!) on getting a synopsis critique. Is it too late to put in names? I'll send a NaNoMail your way because I'm actually thinking I'm going to make it this time... yay!
