So, my character will be wearing one of these garments at some point, a white one. It looks like this:

Is there another/more official name for this style of shirt or its fancier ruffled relative? Or is it just a "swordsman shirt"? I know it has less poofy sleeves and ruffles, but my knowledge of the differences ends there.

Tunic immediately comes to mind? After you mention it once or twice, you can totally skimp and just call it a shirt.

You could probably get away with calling it a blouse, although in modern day a lot of us associate that with a woman's shirt.
