I was so excited today. Star Bucks at the Fairview Mall was under renovations for a few weeks so today was the first time I've been able to go since it reopened. For the most part it's nice. The chairs are more comfortable to sit in but I was disappointed in one thing; they took my writing spot away which was the big table. The space is there where the table was but I was very crushed by that. The table was so much fun and you got to meet people too while you were there. That table was my fav spot to write now I have to find another. What's your fav spot to write?

High Park and the Humber River in Toronto.
But worst comes to worst I like writing in any park short of Fireman's Park at night. Long story = bad luck + poltergists + tres not cool-ness.
But seeing as it's getting cold out and laptop batteries die insanely quickly, my new favourite places to write are William's and my b/f's place because there's nothing like curling up before a warm fire and writing for hours on end!

In my room, alone, with tons of messenger windows open.

I also do planning when I'm at work and it seems to be not busy. This can get frustrating when you get a great idea and a customer walks in and ruins my train of thought.

To be honest, I like writing in my room, in the dark. I like it to be silent, and I like writing and knowing that no one will come in and bother me. I also love writing during the winter, it's my most inspirational season and most of my stories are set in the smack dead of winter.

Sometimes I'll like grabbing my dad's laptop and laying in my bed instead of sitting at my desk (which doesn't have a comfy chair). And the weirdest part is, I get ALL of my ideas for books while I'm.. in the shower. ;P

I am a god-damn speed demon when I write at work. Problem is, I only have about 45 minutes, max, to write in the morning (and that's because my fiance has to drop me off at work early so he can get to work on time).

Most of my writing is done at home on the couch; I'm not too fast, maybe 600-800 words an hour usually, but when I can sit from 9 till like 12 or 1 I can get a lot done.

Man I am getting tired though.

I like writing at home, when it's very quiet. I talk on MSN at the same time, and I like it that way. =)

The best place for me to write is usually at home on my computer with my music in my ears.

Of course, I really don't have much experience writing anywhere else.

At home there are a lot of things that can distract me, but I can still pop out probably a thousand or more words an hour if I'm concentrating. I would imagine being in a public place while writing would be both distracting and aiding. Hearing other people talking might help you with your dialogue; however, its very safe to assume you could lose focus, especially if you see someone you know, or even start up a convo with someone you don't.

Home is the best! If you want to make progress!
