Hello, fellow (frustrated?) novelists!

I, and a fellow nano-er, are book slaves at Borders in Mt. Laurel, and we are hoping to have a write-in in our beautiful cafe. Would anyone else be interested?

(Yes, very frustrated novelist! Hoping to overcome that...)

I might be interested; but it would depend on the date and if the 30 minute time estimate by mapquest is true.

Actually, Borders Mt. Laurel was one of the places mentioned in the thread discussing a possible Burlington County write-in: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3349519

I'd be up for it, if the timing worked out for me, and especially if you happen to have a time when the cafe happens to have a lot of space open - sometimes I go there and there's no one at the tables, while other times I've seen at least one person at every table, which could make it slightly difficult to commandeer a couple tables for a NaNo group...

So should we start thinking about dates and times then? I can tell you now Wednesdays won't work for me.

Anyone know a time when it would be relatively empty? Since like ladybard said it can be hard to get tables, especially ones with outlets near by, if we go at the wrong time.

I've basically got my whole schedule up on the other page, though I can tell you offhand that Thursday nights won't work for me. It could be kind of cool to have a write-in at some point on Veterans' Day, which is coming up on Wednesday, November 11 - I'm free at any point that day, if you guys are up for it

Are schools closed on veterans day? If so, it probably won't be a good idea- the store is packed on school holidays. Tuesday nights are pretty dead (I'm sure there's another write-in that night elsewhere?) and Mondays, as well as Wednesdays are usually pretty empty.

Good point - I'm pretty sure most schools are closed on Veteran's Day; I know the two districts where I substitute are. I think the Tuesday night write-in you're thinking about might be the one that was at the Treehouse Cafe in Audubon, which has actually been switched to Monday nights. Or maybe you were thinking of the possibility of having a write-in some Tuesday at the BCC Mount Laurel campus?

A Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evening could work for me. How early depends partially on if and where I end up subbing that day, but I can pretty much be sure of being able to be done and get there by 5:30-ish. If Tuesday is the most dead, it might be a good idea to aim for a Tuesday night, though I know there's at least one person who has mentioned having class on Tuesday night at the other thread (but at least it's at the Mount Laurel campus, so there may be a possibility of them joining the Borders group before and/or after the class)....

I think if I stood on the roof of your store, I might be able to see my house.

I'm up for a write-in there if I can get a place to plug my laptop in. The battery, she is deaded.

I'm close enough that it's more that there are nights I can't make it than nights I can, and those are more because something got planned. Just let me know when and I'll be there with bells on.

A little late, yes, but it seems like some of you said Tuesdays would be best. Anyone wanna try for tonight? (November 10)

I actually know someone who said they're usually there sometime in the afternoon anyways. So she might be able to come too, depending on the time.

What time tonight? There's part of me that really wants to go and leap at this chance, and another part that just wants to stay home and watch NCIS - but if there's at least one more person who'll definitely be there I'll brave the driving in the dark and hope the DVR manages to pick up the new NCIS episode. Let me know soon, though, because it takes me about half an hour to drive there...

Saw this too late for tonight, but since Treehouse write-ins were moved to Monday, I'll be looking for some writing on Tuesdays....

keep us posted if you host one next week! :)

I'm also thinking it's getting a bit late to start heading out for a write-in tonight. But I could make one next week on Tuesday, I believe - I think I could manage to get there as early as 5-5:30ish even if I do end up working in one of the elementary schools that day, though part of it also depends on how crazy the traffic gets. And of course I'm available to start later as well - let me know and I'll plan on being there (and quite possibly bringing along some small prizes and a timer for word wars, and maybe even a bag filled with random props to challenge people to include in their novels if anyone's interested in that...)

Gah, sorry. I ended up sleeping the rest of the afternoon away, so I'm staying home to make sure I'm not sick @_@

But I think we should try this again sometime. What's the rest of the week look like for everyone? And did we want to try next Tuesday?

I really have to check these more often...and type up all i have written. Gah, so much to do, so little time! I just thought i would mention Tuesdays work for me, and if you plan one, ill more likely than not be there. Just in case someone's trying to keep track of how many people are planning on going or something. ^-^

Okay well sounds to me like we should have one next Tuesday, at least!
So time... I dunno, start at 5 or 6ish? What do you guys think? It'd be nice to get something official up on the calender.

Count me in for next tuesday, it's a bit of a drive for me but I'll be there! I may need a reminder, probably best in the form of a separate forum post. Too many posts and I start to get really confused... :)

I'm in for next Tuesday. I've stayed up late on a school night for sillier reasons.

See you all there next Tuesday!

Something on the calendar would be good - and maybe someone should go early to snag a couple tables. And we probably should have someone as some sort of host, at least for the purposes of letting our wonderful ML know to put the event on the calendar and probably to post a reminder post either Monday night or Tuesday morning so people can let us know if they're still planning on coming and we can guess at how much table space we need.
