I talked to the people at Camas today, and I've got us set up. The ebst I could do was Saturdays at 3 PM. If this really doesn't work, let me know. I might be able to get something on Sundays, but it'd be pushing it. They're pretty booked this month, with so much stuff happening in November.

Camas is located on the corner of Quadra and King street, across the street (diagonally) from the Fairway Market. Everyone's welcome, both people who go to the UVic meetings and those that don't.

I will respond here as it would be more appropriate at this time. I live out in cook street village is that too far for you? I still worry at my being a bother.

I will do my best to make this meeting as well (I should be off around 2ish on saturday). I make no promises though as well, kitchen shift end times are extremely unreliable.

Saturday at 3pm sounds good to me, although I am currently dying from the common cold, so I'm not making any promises regarding whether I can make it or not... it will depend on (a) how I feel and (b) how much work has piled up from taking the last two days off!

That shouldn't be a problem. I'll do my best to get you there if you're able to come. ^_^

I'll see if I can swing this one with my parents and have them chase the bratling for the duration. :) Or see if my sister and/or her husband wouldn't mind having her come over to play with her cousins. I really want to meet you all!

I probably can't come this week due to work, but if things are utterly dead in the antique shop (as they often are on rainy autumn weekends) then I may be by.

Sounds like a grand idea...and at a great place to boot. :)

For those who have done this before...how long do these things usually run...?

Cheers. :)

I'd say you could bring "The Bratling" except for the fact you used that term, which means she would probably distract us all O_O

Kids are sweet...when their sweet...but they tend to...not be so sweet during NaNo LOL (I had three sisters growing up, so I feel your pain in dealing with a kid that you have to babysit all the time...)

I'm deciding at the last minute not to show up and instead try to boost my horrendously-behind word count. Have fun guys. :D

Thank you for putting this together (and for driving us vehically-challenged Wrimos)! It was so nice to meet everyone who showed up and see just what kind of people participate in NaNoWriMo. I hope to meet more people throughout the month!

Not bad...the last time I planned a social event it was my graduation party back when I finished high school in 2007 and all of two people showed up D: This was considerably more lively.

We're booked for the whole month, same time, same place, So I hope to see everyone again next week.

It was a lot of fun (At least I had fun!) and I'm looking forward to more meet-ups in the future. (And of course I'll drive you again, Strawberry and Ira!)

So, there's one tomorrow, then?

Also, I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself. This is my first official NaNo, and I'm hoping for some kind of beginner's luck/miracle because I'm already five thousand words behind. What else? I'm fifteen, which sounds painfully young as I type this x.x I like chocolate and coffee (preferably together), references I really shouldn't get, amusing myself with antics of my cat and/or politicians, music that's too old for me, technology and all the possibilites of procrastination that come with it, and life in general, so long as it doesn't involve math problems.

Oh, and my name is Sarah. Hi, guys.

Hi Sarah *wavies* I hope to see you tomorrow at the meeting! I would type more, but, I have a word war beginning soon, and I don't want to miss it...I'm a little behind to. Word wars are GREAT for catching up. If you have MSN messenger I can add you to the war groups?

I suspect that tomorrow will be the last Camas meeting. Please respond in this thread if you're coming...if not, I'll assume it's not on and scrap the idea of Camas meetings since last week's one seems to have cause a bloody firefight.

I'm coming. Definitely.

I haven't been here long enough to know the exact details of what happened the last time, but I saw the board and it was pretty ugly D: I think we should give it another chance, though.

I, being Sarah's nutty fifteen year old counterpart, will be coming! I popped into one Black Stilt meeting in 2007 which was a thrilling albeit short experience but haven't been to one since then. But yes, don't stop them. I've wanted to visit Camas for a while actually.

I want to come but I have so much stuff to do today! I have to make my friend's birthday present (another mini top-hat) and I don't want it to come out as half-assed as mine did lol.

I might STILL drag my ass out though....we'll see :) ^_^

Well then I suppose I'll be there, then, if I don't get too busy with other things. It doesn't look like I'll be picking anyone up this week so it'll be easier for me to get distracted XD

Shan't be able to make it this week. Trying to get a lot of words in, and a write-in only helps with that if one has a laptop. I do not :) Plus I'm liable to be interrupted by family again, so maybe next weekend ...

Another lovely meetup at Camas! It was very nice to meet Elstraaya and Naera. Even though there were only four of us, I would still say it was a successful meetup. :) I was also pleasantly surprised by the amount of writing I managed. I hope to meet more fellow Wrimos at next week's event!
