As you can see from my word count, I am mega behind.

D: Anybody else really behind? Am I the only one here that needs to drop out of school to finish this thing?

If you want to feel better look at my word count. Hopefully I'll be able to start writing before the weekend sometime.

Don't panic! Writing from a deficit is a great way to write for NaNo. Two years ago I didn't start writing my manuscript until the 5th day. I still finished my 50k, I just had to continually claw my way to that number. It was really great motivation to know that I was digging myself out of a hole, but I was still going to succeed.

Neither of you are all that far behind. One good day of writing could easily put you back on pace. Keep at it!

Fortunately I already have the first little intro hashed out in my head, as well as well as some intercalary text that I'm going to include. I also have a fairly good idea of how it will end, so if all else fails I could start the ending or write an intercalary chapter to get things moving a little bit in my head.

Yeah, I definitely am :\
But my excuse, as flimsy as it may be, is that my (sort-of) boyfriend is leaving for the Air Force this Sunday, and so I've been spending most of my free time talking with him... oh well. After this weekend I hope to catch back up, if at all possible :)

WE CAN DO IT!!!

WELL, not yet, but as I just got in from doing crap today, and I have to get up at quarter past three in the morning? And will be gone until Saturday night at the latest? Yeah, I think Sunday may be the day I break down crying.

We can still do this.

I've started my story NINE TIMES. ARGH. I have a really bad habit of hating what I create from the get-go. XD;
I think I might just start writing and try to see where it takes me. :(

Do this. Let NaNo be a reason to NOT do things the way you normally would.

Also, do NOT restart. Just type "Next Chapter" in front of each rewrite, and keep going. Voila! No wasted words.

I signed up yesterday so I am several days behind. I have so many ideas it has become overwhelming. I am beginning to think wanting to cry before my first 24 hours has passed does not bode well. Adapt and overcome. Adapt and overcome!

Thank you for the much needed suggestions.

I have really had a tough time finding a long period of time to just sit and write, but I have been keeping ahead of pace by just keeping my laptop with me, writing whenever class gets out early or during any breaks I have during the day. Also, I have been trying to make a plan for each time I write, whether it be scenes that I want to finish or whatever, while I am doing something I cant write during. Say I am driving down the street or riding the bus back from class, I am trying to think of what I should write when I get to my computer. That way whatever time I do have to write isn't wasted.

18,000 words tomorrow. If ever I was going to quit, this would be it.

It's not going to be, though.

Don't worry Magic Boxers, I'm right there with you. =( Things have been especially explodey at home the past week, so I've been busy and depressed. And when I'm depressed I hate everything I write, so I've been hitting a wall whenever I *do* snag some time. I'm going to keep chugging along though and hope that my mood improves enough to enjoy it at some point.

I am also super behind! I have a bad case of procrastination...It might be time to fill up a free state growler and attack the keyboard!

You can definitely do it! 48K in 18 days means 2667 words/day. Very reasonable! Get to it!

I totally understand! I had a rough start, but I finally decided to skip to my second chapter and worry about finishing the first one later, because I had a lot more ideas fleshed out for that part of the story. I'm still behind, but at least I'm out of my slump. =]

Very smart! NaNo is all about forward momentum. If something gets in your way, just shove it aside for later. There's plenty of time after November to worry about those types of things!

I'm about to show my ignorance but...

what is a freestate growler? Will it help with my writing? I need all the help I can get! It's the 12th and I think I have a title I am happy with. I think.

Free State Brewery serves beer in growlers (small jugs). So...it'll help your writing, and then it'll NOT help your writing, as the level of beer drops. :)

I'm not behind, but I do want to cry. I thought I had everything, but I have only three chapters left that I want to write and almost 8,000 to right to finish. I'm so STUCK!

This is terrible!

I feel like I've jumped in a pool of quicksand!

Everything seemed to fine and easy at first and now I'm going down!

*gurgle gurgle gurgle...*
