Hey everyone, I'm having some overwhelming reverse homesickness and really want to drop into the closest thing I can get to England over here... so is anyone up for writing/conversing over a pint of cider (as in hard cider, not that juice that Americans insist on calling cider!)? I'm also being a bit selfish trying to find something nearby me, but still... enough writing sober, I'm ready for a trip to the pub some time soon! Who's with me?

That sounds like a lot of fun! I've been having withdrawls from my own British pub, The Olde Ship, back home in So. Cali. What I really miss are the fish and chips, custard, and curry, most of all! Being that I'm allergic to any alcohol that's not distilled, I can't say I'll drink cider, but I may have a scotch whisky. :)

I'd love to join in the fun! Depends on when it is, though, and how to get there, because traffic is nightmarish around there... if anybody'd be willing to pick me up from the Brighton/Henrietta area, I'd totally be in for it.... :D And hard cider would be delicious, but so would scotch whiskey..... Both, even? :P

I'd love to do that! :D

I'm in, just need to know when. I was writing there last night, in fact.

Drinks and writing? What's not to like? I'm there, if possible! Name the time!

I'm at the Old Toad sometimes for trivia night on Sundays. The hard cider is *really* good :)

I could be up for a write-in/meet-up there depending on the time!

Awesome, in that case, what is the best time for everyone? Any time is pretty good for me since I'm unemployed and not in school, so those of you with jobs should probably decide...

My brother's best friend's family actually owns the place. I'm all about meeting up there. Just name the time and place.

I generally write pretty late on the weekdays and whenever I can on weekends. Anyone up for, say, 10pm or so? The Toad stays open fairly late, right?

I rehearse most nights so I don't get out until 9:30-10.

But, I'll see what I can do based on other people's avail.

That sounds like fun. I'm dependent on the hubby for rides right now, but he loves the toad. We could possibly stop by depending on time (we are at work until 5pm weekdays, and he works Sundays).

It's been to long since I've had the Sheppard's pie at the Toad.

Would loooove to go, but I won't know my boyfriend's schedule for work til later this week (I know, I need a license, seriously) and he hates driving downtown... would anybody possibly maybe be able to come get me from the Henrietta area? I'm in Rustic Village, and I swear, it's easy to find.

I'm in for Monday at 9 pm, but I would suggest we all show up earlier than that if possible, or reserve a table. The Toad does a just-for-fun trivia on Monday nights. It is never as busy as Sunday trivia, but I'd hate to see us wanting for space for everyone.

I'm in for Monday night, but I might end up being there most of the day, because my boyfriend has work from 2-10 so i might end up needing to camp out there for most of the day.... please tell me they have electric outlets :P I can also reserve a table if you guys want me to ... for how many people? Might be hard to do for 8+ hours but i could probably go early and say "Hey I'm going to be here until 10 or 11 tonight, would you be able to reserve a table for me and my friends starting at 9?" of course i'd have to tell them how many people... and i don't know how good they feel about people "camping out" there over long spans of time :P

I'm feeling really guilty for not going to the Henrietta library writte-in today, so I'll try and make it to the pub tomorrow. Maybe I'll feel less guilty about it...

Unfortunately I'm not going to come tonight :( Got invited by a friend for dinner and figured it'd be cheaper that way... plus my bf wouldn't have to drive me there and back. Some people are bringing rubber duckies, but usually I just watch for laptops and sometimes stickers on the laptop say NaNoWriMo, or you can just write on a piece of paper "NaNoWriMo Write In Here" or something.. :) Hope that helps!!!

Hey, all! I am going to try to make it after rehearsal tonight. So, I may not make it until 10pm or so. Will anyone still be there?

I'll look for peeps with computers and writing tablets!

Ok, I'll have my laptop with me... it's the one covered in stickers with the pink and black polka-dotted case.

Totally understand the driving thing-- that's why I never bother with the get-togethers in the suburbs. I'm only a few streets away from the Old Toad, so I figured I could walk or take the bus if I didn't get a ride tonight XD Anyways, see you guys soon.

Oh, and I'll probably stay as late as possible; to me 10 is early. In England I actually had a few incidences where I ended up staying overnight in the rooms above old pubs :D In one instance I ended up sharing a mattress with two other people, including the chef who ran the place, and 5 of us went on a 24 hour bender. Hanging out at the Old Toad late on a week night is tame for me. lol

Hey, all. Sorry I couldn't make it. Didn't get out of rehearsal until 11pm. If there's another Toad write-in, I'm in!

Happy writing.

Had such a great time; wouldn't mind doing this again and maybe starting earlier (I came in late but stayed until closing). Is anyone up for another Old Toad get-together on Thursday this week and Wednesday next week?
