I just checked out the League tables by average word count and I thought I'd re-arrange it so that its a level playing field. There were too many teams from the British Isles and the rest of the world ahead of Brighton (158 in total) so I deducted all the teams except England.
I then realised that some are flying the flag under county banners and multiple towns so I disqualified them as well.
So the REAL league table top 7 is as follows.
1st: Newcastle; 6361 word average
2nd: Nottingham; 6106
3rd: Milton Keynes (is that in England? :)); 5985
4th: Leicester; 5979
5th: Southampton; 5681 (I bet they got some IOW ringers!)
6th: Cambridge; 5587
7th: BRIGHTON; 5394
I didn't look any lower as I need to get out more.
This puts us ahead of teams like: Tennessee, Hawaii; Ottawa; Edinburgh; South Africa; Malaysia; The Middle East; Wales AND London! (Note I brought back international teams for statistical purposes).
Well done Brighton!!!! Hehe!

Milton Keynes is in fact in England. I used to live not too far from it.
