Are any of you setting your novel specifically in our fair city? Where have you included so far? I've got a couple of old bags in the coffee section of Borders right now! O and have mentioned Fabric Land on Western Road...

My novel is set in deepest rural China. Not much scope for including Brighton in there, then...

I have characters all over the place (mostly in the US right now), but at least one of them used to live in Brighton. (He was dead before the novel begins, and appears only in what I guess almost class as flashbacks.) I suspect some other characters may have to visit Brighton at some point in order to find something about something, but I don't know yet. That may be a bit tricky to squeeze in...

One day I'll write something set in Brighton, I'm sure, because it's got so many great locations, but none of my plots would really work here.
I suppose I could have set last year's detective noir here, but I wanted it more Philip Marlowe than Brighton Rock.

LA for me this year. Can't afford fancyy holidays so this is my vacation for the year & wanted somewhere hot. (& smog filled. & bankrupt.)
Last year's was set in Brighton though (& Vegas). Started with the West Pier blowing up if I remember correctly.

Yep. This year's is in Brighton. So far actually in Brighton (unless you count the Unis) only the Caroline of Brunswick (pub near the Level), because it's a goth pub with monsters... although it's quite a long time since I've visited it (because it's a goth pub with monsters). I needed somewhere that the undead might like to hang out...
Setting it in Brighton might have been a mistake... I keep feeling a need to check details. It's a lot quicker to make things up!
I think the next scene might be in a private house "Somewhere near Hove Station". There must be some private houses near Hove Station. ;-)
After that, maybe the Marina.
Do mermaids live under the pier?

Mine has started in Brighton but hasn't really left a desk in a small house in Hanover yet. Action-packed, that's me

One of my future works is set in a post-apocalyptic Brighton. This one's in an airport on an unnamed Greek island at an unnamed modern time.

Next year I swear i'm going to do one set in Brighton... or maybe on a train.
This year mine is set in Florida through to Michigan. Never been to any of those places so i feel the realism may be a little loose.
