ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH
1,666 words every day!
You do loads in one day, you know, 1,666 or so, but then the next day it's 1,666 again!
Every day!
ARRRGGHHHHHHHHHHH.
Right.
Phew.
Feel much better.
Thanks.
Ben
PS And it's only day 5. ARRRGGGHHHHH.
PPS and this post is a waste of 52 precious words!

Look at you 10,000+ already. less venting and more writing! You are doing awesome!!. This next week is the hardest so hang in there, pace yourself (seems like you already are) and pretty soon we'll all be over the hump. At the finish line we will all fall out, laughing sooo hard at the insanity of the last 30 days. Then when we calm down we'll get up, brush ourselves off, hold our heads high, proud because we will have an awesome first draft and because we will have finished. Go On With Your Bad Self!

If one day you can't do it and you only write 600 then don't beat yourself up about it, that will only make you more reluctant. Just go all out the next day (or the day after if need be). That said your doing really well, better than the majority of us!

I have to say, the write ins have worked a treat for me so far- they've kept my head above water.
Every year I think back to the previous one and think, 1,666 ain't that bad - and then, late week one/early week two, I find it really tough.
But yeah, it's just about ploughing on, isn't it.
Hope everyone's going well

I have spent the whole week stuck at work, itching to write, knowing exactly what I wanted to write, and brimming with enthusiasm for the novel so far, but only had two evenings free and barely managed to keep the word count on track. Now it's Saturday and I'm laid low with a cold which has manifested itself in constant sneezing fits - making it near impossible to type without getting snot on the keyboard (or do much of anything else without getting snot everywhere).
I just want to bang my fists of the floor and howl that it's not fair.

Bloody typical that my teachers give me barely any work to do leading up to November, making me practically beg for something to fill up the time. And as soon as it rolls around I have two articles for the school paper, an English essay and a load of Psychology work to do. And drama kicks off. And my work hours get bumped up to full weekends. And I get ill. *Dies*
----------Sleep is so overrated anyway :(
But still, nearly half way and just hit a 1;/3 of the way through my plot plan so yay!
It's a tough first year but so worth it.

Enzo, if you're having problems, try going on the Toronto Nano chat room, they have VERY regular live word wars (who writes the most in the next half hour, etc) and it helped me no end!
