I know that Dec 1st seems a looooong way off right now, but eventually we will get there, and to celebrate our month of madness we will have a TGIO Party. You all know what TGIO means right?

Thank God It's Over! :D

Now, Dec 1st is on a Tuesday, and I bet most of you plan on sleeping as much as possible, or vegging out in front of the TV. At the very least not thinking about NaNo! So I'd like to have the party sometime the weekend of the 5th. Either Friday evening (4th), Saturday afternoon/evening (5th), or Sunday afternoon/evening (6th).

As for place, since the Kick-Off was up in North Chuck I'd like to have the TGIO a little closer to the main peninsula. I was thinking we could have it at Home Team BBQ on HWY 61/Ashley River Rd. It's very easy to get to from the highway and has plenty of seating, plus some of the best BBQ and banana pudding you can imagine. It's also got a good beer selection for those of us old enough to celebrate with alcohol, and they'll be having live music on Friday and Sat. If everyone likes this idea I'd be more than happy to go in there and talk to them about hosting the TGIO party there and reserving the back picnic area for our group (and hopefully waiving the music fee if we end up staying late enough for the show, which is at 10pm).

And the old ML offered up her smores maker, if Home Team will let us bring it :P I swear I will get smores to you guys one way or another this year!

They would be willing to waive the music fee on Sat. for us, but I don't know how much it will be (if anything) to reserve the patio. That will be my next question for him :)

Unfortunately, my husband's Office Christmas Party has been scheduled for Friday night, so I won't be able to host the TGIO on that night. So let's hear it:

A. Saturday Night! Let's party with good music!

B. Sunday Afternoon! I don't have anything better to do!

C. Sunday Evening! I want to sleep as much as possible before the TGIO party!

Home Team would be FANTASTIC! As far as I know, any of the days mentioned above would work for me, too!

Home Town BBQ would be new and exciting for me, and that's way too far in advance for me to have anything planned, so unless I end up getting a second job (which I don't think I can handle during NaNoWriMo), I'll be there at any of those times. I'll probably need directions though. I still don't know how to navigate this city too well.

I vote for either Saturday or Sunday--afternoon or evening. Friday night I'm committed to take the kids to Festival of Lights, which will be a weird change to see lights in trees after staring at the computer screen for 30 days!! BANANA PUDDING????? Yum!!! I've been wanting to try that place :) ....off to go write banana pudding into the story.....

Friday or Saturday would be best. I hope we pick soon though, so I can get it requested off at work.

Becka --

I'm for Friday the 4th in the evening. I'm almost certainly hosting a party of my own (NOT related to Nano) on Saturday the 5th, and I'd hate to miss the Nano celebration -- I think we'll all deserve it by then!

Hope enough of us are able to do it on Friday -- this is my fifth year doing Nano and only the first actually participating in any of the area events, so I'm really up for a local TGIO party.

I may be able to get out of work on Friday, but no promises. Saturday or Sunday night would be best for me though. Love Home Team, they have some good eats!!

It turns out that both Mina and I will be out of town that weekend. ::sigh:: Family obligations. Ah well. I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Preferably C since work wouldn't get in the way, but if work permits, I'll be there at any one of the times.

I think A will be my best bet, because I work at the Citadel Mall, and will hopefully be working 9:30-5:30 on Sturday

I'll vote A, but B would work too. I'm only good for C if it's the only option.

My first choice is Friday night the 4th -- definitely can't make it Saturday night and Sunday is only distantly possible.

So I'm for Friday night -- hope that will be the final choice, as I do want to come!

Susan, my husband's office Christmas Party is on that Friday night so there is no way I can host the TGIO that night. I'll put your vote as B or C, since you definitely cannot do Saturday.

Ok, I edited the original post so people wouldn't have to scroll through to find my second post. Please vote for either A, B, or C so I know which of those times is the best for everyone.

Thanks guys!

B or C, since I really can't stand what most people consider "music", especially at the ear-shattering volumes that establishments insist on playing them at.

I would vote either B or C. I think if we're going to have a TGIO party, it'd be nice to be able to talk to (and hear) each other. I will probably need directions to this place (or at least an address to plug into the Tom-Tom).

Normally, I would say Aaaaa given my penchant for partying with good music. (And of course beer and food.) But I think it might be more conducive for conversation (which I am also a big fan of with beer and food) if it were Bee or Cee (see?). Anyway, please feel free to use my vote as a swing vote to push whichever side over the edge. I do regret I will miss the write-in this weekend, but there is a new addition to the clan I have to go welcome so I will be in Hilton Head (yes, mostly eating and drinking, though I have already promised to change at least one diaper [I don't know why but married people get such a hoot out of bachelors doing this].)

Come on guys! Home Team emailed me to find out when we are doing this. I went back through the post since everything was tied up and it looks like A is the most preferred by the most people (the first time I counted "I can also do X" votes as well), so if I don't hear something by the time I get home this evening I'm going to go with A as our time choice.
