Don't forget!!!!

Today is our 3rd Annual Build-A-Muse Write-In

It'll be at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, just west of Disneyland. We'll meet in front of the Build-A-Bear Workshop at 1:00 pm and go in to build our muses no later than 1:20 pm. If you arrive late, come on into the store and find us.

Afterwards, we'll pick a restraunt, have a bite, and do some writing.

If you haven't been to a Build-A-Muse Write-In before, check with some of those who have. It's a fun time, and great for sharing about your characters, and getting some inspiration along the way.

If you'd like to come just for the eating and writing part, keep an eye out for a bunch of crazy writers with brand new muses and come join us!

The first three hours of parking at Downtown Disney are free, so we aim to be far enough along so any who need to can leave right at 4:00 pm.

See you there!

I don't know if I'll be able to come or not--I'll be camping that weekend, but might be back early-ish on Sunday. we'll see!

I'd love to do this and will try really hard to be there. As for the parking: The first three hours are free. And if you get your parking ticket validated you get an additional two hours. So, five hours in total. Pretty cool, huh? :)

Woo hooo!! Megan and I will be there for sure! :) I'm still trying to decide if I can afford 2 muses or if the bear she built 2 1/ 2 years ago just gets a new outfit and I get the new bear/muse. LOL Only time will tell. :) Oh, and I'll bring pictures of the muse we made for my girlfriend in Australia... the closest BaB to her is a 5 hr drive away, so we went 3 weeks ago and made her a muse and sent it to her. Now THAT was FUN! :D

ANYWAYS.... the first 3 hours of parking are still free, and if you purchase a meal at a restaurant or go to the movies, they validate for an additional two hours, so you can have up to 5 hrs free. :)

Looking forward to seeing you all and creating a muse with my daughter (again!),

I was planning on going to this, but actually can't be there until about 4 or 4:30 =( I may just go anyway, even without writerly support - any excuse to make a bear ;-) Have fun everyone!

I'm pretty sure the first 3 hours are still free, and the restaurants I believe can validate for another hour, though I'm not sure if that's for all of them or not.

(goes to check) Ah, here, from the horse's mouth:

Quote:
Your first three hours of parking are FREE. An additional two hours can be validated at AMC Theatres® and at table-service dining restaurants. After that, the cost is $6 for each additional hour, charged in 20-minute increments.

So the counter-service portion of the Jazz Kitchen and the Mexican place don't validate.

I've never gone to Build-A-Muse before, but I think I will be coming this year. Looking forward to splurging a bit. :)

This idea is TOO great. I'd love a little bear version of my main character, or just to see how close I could get to making one!

Not 100% sure if I'll be able to attend or not but my boyfriend will be working that day so I may just give it a go, just to get me out of the house (since I plan on writing like a mad person on Friday and Saturday). After all, this being my first Nanowrimo I'm not sure I'll be getting the entire experience unless I attend at least ONE Write-in and this one just sounds super cute/fun.

I have to stop by one of the Disney shops to pick some gifts up so may swing by to the bear thingee. Plus I have an annual pass so parking is not a worry for me. Don't know if I can make a bear of my main character since I honestly don't know what he looks like, long story, well not really but it might be. I think.

Sorry sleep deprivation does not make for good and healthy conversation. Or at least coherant conversation.

I might only get an outfit though, I'm a tad short on cash. Starving college student, you know how that goes.

I'll probably be there to socialize and maybe write a bit, but I probably won't be building a bear.

I'll be there! I've never built a bear before, but I've always been intrigued. What a perfect excuse to finally make one! Can't wait!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. They are expecting a HUGE crowd due to the release of their new princess movie. I'm heading to a party now and then Build A Muse after and have been told that they are expecting parking over at the Gardenwalk for Disneyland, that's how bad it might get. So just take into consideration that parking might be difficult. See you all there!

Wish i could have come!! Actually got home from camping in time, but...see, when we were camping, the truck broke down in the desert, and we had to slog through soft sand, sleep by the side of the road, etc, so I was VERY tired when I got home and took a nap instead. :)

Hope everyone had fun!

I didn't get to go either—too much stuff going on at home. Not that I'd have been actually building a bear, anyway. I'm now sitting and doing some writing, mostly to make up last night's total and seeing if I can make any impact on today's.

See you all tomorrow at the Anaheim meet.

I wanted to do this - was even going to bring my girls. However, my five year old is so sick. She hasn't stopped coughing all day. It's so sad. Anyway, once she is feeling better - I'm taking her to do this. Something for her, a muse for me and probably a Christmas present for her little sister.

I hope everyone who went had a blast!

I think all of us who went found something fun to do. It's Downtown Disney after all, the people watching capitol of California. Not only did people make bears, some made bunnies and dinosaurs.
I was trying to add everyone to my buddy list. I did great until I came to the last name. It was The_S. Tried that in the search engine and I got a whole page of listings. So if you could add me directly, or share a link to your profile via nano mail, that'd be great.

Our 3rd Annual Build-A-Muse Write-In was a great success! We had more than twice as many folks this year as we did last year.

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated.

My pretty little muse kitty is already busy doing her job. She already gave me two new ideas for chapters in my novel. Yea Muse!

Hope to see you all at a Write-In this week.

I had a ton of fun attending! :) Got myself a whole mess of new buddies. It was great meeting you all!

And my little bear is currently sitting by my laptop. Chilling out in the hoodie I got him, apparently that blue/purple robe just wasn't working. ha ha.

I had a great time showing off my little guy (who came to last year's Build A Muse) and also putting together some cute little outfits for our muse.

It was great to see new faces and some returning faces and BOY was I surprised at how great the turn out was. Wish we could have joined everyone for dinner but we cut out for some beignets and then headed home.
