Lord this is getting difficult. Still ahead of the game (we're not due to break 10k till the end of tomorrow, so don't anybody fret if you're not there yet), but too many of my buddies are ahead, and I'm getting competitive just as my words are starting to dribble a little slower.

Still...I posted this to celebrate, so this isn't the time to start moaning.
It's weird the feeling that I'm setting things up for later, so I know where everything is going, but trying to make sure it doesn't come to soon. The fact that a portion of today's word count was essentially a review for an album that doesn't exist, and another was a needless (and quite unsuccesful) trip to the toilet for one of my new MCs.

I mean, if she's going to drink that much coffee, then she's going to have to accept the consequences. This isn't 'Friends'.

Erm... what was I saying.

Oh yeah...WOOOOO! I wrote ten thousand words.

That's a lot of words.

Well done! 10k is great! I wish I had 10k...
And don't worry about other people being ahead of you. I'm not. I'm still intimidated by the fact that I'm meant to have written 10k by tomorrow night, but hey, eventually I'll catch up if I keep at it.
Well done again!

Yep, seconded. Well done, Alabaster. I just hit 4k today to bring me back on target and, quite frankly, have had enough for the day. I should hit the big 10 tomorrow.

Somehow, despite Thursdays being bloody awkward, I wrote 3000 words and also hit 10k yesterday. Not quite sure how that happened. I think the introduction of a fairly significant character helped, especially when she started to investigate just why it is she likes tea...

I was fretting so much about hitting my targets that I didn't even notice getting into five figures. I'll have a little 15k celebration if I manage to get there today. My target is only 14k, but I might try to push out another thousand - it's a lot like giving birth - lots of panting and screaming and then all you get is a baby which isn't as good as you thought it might be. Did I say baby? I meant novel.

This is my first NaNoWriMo, so I'm still trying to keep a steady pace rather than burn too much at a time or do too little. I'm just on 10,201 now and I'm probably calling it for the day, unless I get inspired later.
My 10,000th word was "They"
Doesn't seem very ceremonious.

So, woefully behind the 10K mark, but now bonfire night behind me – (I saw both our illustrious leaders in the crowd, and very much hope they enjoyed it) I am heading back on track. Tonight's write in should add a few more words to my total. When and what is the next deadline?

Finally cracked it! I know I'm still woefully behind though. Hopefully we'll get some action scenes (in more than one sense) which will up the count.
