I'm currently living in Maryland, but my book is set in Greensburg where I grew up, and where much of my family still lives. This is also my first year, and I love it! Even though I'm a little behind... I always write so slow, so I knew this would be a good thing to try.

Took me 6 years to get my first book done (background mostly westmoreland for that too), and about 3 to get a third of the way through my second (alluded to Pitt and surrounding, but never clearly stated). Put it on pause to do this, and am amazed at how quickly this one's coming along (the deadline is doing wonders).

Now, if I could just get published LOL

I love Westmoreland county! I'm across the border in Monroeville, but went to school at St. Vincent, spend all kinds of time in Greensburg, I camp in Ligonier and I have family in Irwin. We had a couple last year come to the Monroeville write-ins, you guys are always more than welcome!

Another Latrobean here. This is my second try at this. Can you say "brain dump?" But you can't re-write if you don't write in the first place.

Go Westmoreland WriMos

I'm in Greensburg. Wonder if we could do a meetup at, say, Barnes & Noble in Greensburg or Panera on Route 30?

Heh, I'm surprised how many people from the area are doing this. I grew up in Greensburg. I end up there at least a couple days every month still.
