I was at 12,705 as of Wednesday... unfortunately I probably won't make it much past that until Monday afternoon due to family commitments, sorry! Although I DO intend to be at 13,336 before Monday since that reflects writing a minimum of 1,667 words per day.

YES! What support do you all need to get your daily word goals met?

I suggest including free writing as part of the novel. Just start with whatever words are in your head - even if it is "I just can't find the words. If I write that down people will just think I am stupid...." Sure, it's garbage, but that is the purpose of revisions. By free-writing, you are getting the words down on paper (for the word count), it eventually shifts into something more productive. You may not even realize when the muse shows up but as you look back over it in the future, you will be amazed with what you captured in text. When I first started "free-writing" as a way to open up my mind it was really difficult because of my own self-consciousness. Which is funny, really, because at that point I was the only one reading anything I had written. Unless you post it somewhere or ask people to read it, it certainly is not being held for our posterity.
Another thing that I do, which seems to get me started on the right foot each time I write, actually begins with the ending of my previous day. When I finish with my writing for the day, I pause for a couple of minutes and think about what I want to write about next (not necessarily the next scene). It could be anything because, once again, it will all get changed in revision so transitions for very scattered writing moods can be developed at a later time. Once I decide what I would write about the next time I sit down to type, I send myself an email outlining the basic idea of my writing assignment. It is amazing how much you can forget in a single night. However, the writing assignment is a great reminder - plus the subconscious has had about 20 hours or so to mull it all over. Once I get a line or two out, it just seems to roll.
Well, I wish everyone a productive weekend. I hope that my suggestions might help someone - I am always open for new ideas, as well.
If the weather is good this weekend, I will probably seek inspiration from a secluded leaf-strewn path.

I found inspiration today in a leaf strewn path! I've a friend who was KIA in Afghanistan in 2007 and today went to his grave site. Made me feel lucky to be alive to feel, laugh, love, write! Find your inspiration gang!!!

I logged about 3k in the past 24 hours. Those AIM sprints are really helping me out. Even if I log on during the day and just catch one, I can still easily beat 500 words in 10 minutes.
Some of what's come out is surprising me, though.
