See, I have changed my mind about having buddies this year. Given that most of them have not contacted me, I'm just going to up and drop everybody - and put a note (plus apology) in my profile explaining that I won't have any buddies this year. But I don't want to ruffle feathers or hurt feelings - I just want to go ahead and do it quietly. Will they get a little note saying "output has removed you from his/her buddy list" or something of that sort?
I'm really sorry for this - should've thought twice before I did what I did! Thanks.

No, they don't. They might be able to look at their "buddy of" list and see if you're not there, but there is no notification.
