There's a great cafe inside/outside tables in Armadale. Is anyone interested in meeting up in the east?

Perth, Freo and Mandurah sound great, but they're a bit far for me. As much as I'd love to, I don't think I'd ever make it.

BUT I really really REALLY want to go to a nano meet up. Open for suggestions ... :-)

Hello all,

I'm new to Aus, just moved over from Scotland. I'm in the Armadale area too. What cafe did you have in mind? Dome? Glorias? Somewhere else I haven't discovered yet?

Hi Beladara

Welcome to Oz!

I was thinking Gloria's initially. They have wifi internet (not sure if it costs) for anyone who might want to access the web, and really big table inside, and lots of out side options next to a park, and great for people watching if need inspiration regarding writing a scene.

When's a good time of the week for you?

Thanks Yooshker!

I'm not sure if it costs either, I know the Dome gives you a free 45 min voucher when you buy a drink; never used it at Gloria's though.

For timing, since I work further afoot and it closes before I get home through the week... either a Thursday night (open later), or Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

When suits you best?

Alright. Let's go for tomorrow afternoon if you are available. There'll be two of us, plus you, plus anyone else who's reading this extraordinarily exciting thread :)

Later is better tomorrow. Dome is open until 7pm. How do you feel about meeting for 1-2 hours of writing (after brief intros) from 4ish?

Unfortunately I'll not be able to make it tomorrow :( I've been called in to do work in the afternoon.

In general the plan sounds fine, though. Hopefully I can make it next time!

Sorry for the late reply. Hope you get this in time.

Is 6pm too early for you? If so, please suggest a time. The earlier the better for us.

Also, in case you're pressed for email access during the day, take it that the time that you suggest is the time we will meet you there. Plus, any ideas on how we can identify each other. I suppose the laptops might be a dead set give-away ...

Cheers, Y.
PS - and yes, congratulations on all less-than-2000 words of it - every single word counts for us writers.

Thanks for that. Excellent work on your twice-as-much-as-me count ;) hehe

I can make it for 6pm. I might get there about quarter too.

As for finding each other, the laptops certainly gave it away for the NaNo groups I visited in Scotland; but I'll also be wearing a Hawaiian Shirt, which I'm sure will be pretty distinctive. ;)

Hmmmm....a Hawaiian Scot living in Australia. Sounds like a good recipe for an imaginative writer! See you at 6pm.

PS, we'll be needing a power point, if that makes any difference to where we sit (and assuming they have one available).

Well, I made it to 2000 tonight at the write-in as well. It feels terrific.

This now brings my total up to 8215 (including a little bit of writing I did the other day and didn't get around to adding to my word count). I'm starting to feel a little bit like a real writer :)

Thanks for the support/competition. See you in two weeks.

Hey I'm sorry I missed this! I was up the road getting new glasses at the time too!

Been away and busy with work so I missed the thread to begin with. Hope it can be done again soon.

cheers

Stephen

Hey QWERTYbound

The crew from last night will be meeting again at 6pm Thurs 26th Nov (in two weeks time), upstairs at Dome in Armadale. They have power points and internet access.

If you want to meet up with someone earlier than that, try contacting Beladara to see if interested/available.

Cheers. Look forward to writing with you.
