My muse back in highschool was named Peter.

To this day, I have no idea where that came from. I also sometimes wonder where he went... because my current muses are completely different. XD

My muse is your stereotypical portrayal of a black woman, named Shamayla. Think Mercedes from Glee. For my NaNo she's decked out in typical ancient Greek wear and screaming 'OH NO YOU DI'N'T' at me whenever I go down a path I hadn't planned on taking |D

Her name is the Ruiner, or just Ruiner. (internet cookies if you get the reference I make with her name). It fits her, because she gives me plotbunnies. She has cages full of 'em. Ruiner looks like Miss Murder from the AFI music video, you know -- even the black bunnies and everything. Said muse is a terrible, terrible person.

I also named my Inner Editor (who has been killed by Ruiner and her rabid plotbunnies). She was called Ms. Alexandra for no reason. I imagined her to look like a bored young office secretary, long blonde hair, too much eye makeup, and fake nails, all paired with big fancy glasses and fairly normal clothing.

My muse invaded my mind and named himself years ago. His name is Gregory, but I just call him Greg.

His name is William Fitzwilliam Fitzwilliamson. He wears a sombrero and floats above my head, gnawing on a chicken leg in a lady's tanktop with a heart on it.

Uh. He's wearing that. Not the chicken leg.

I just named her when I saw this thread. Her name is now Watanabe Warita Josephine. I'll just call her Wata for short :3 She's like a little pastel-colored ghost floating around my mind, unlike my strict inner editor secretary, Tary Taylor Wenxue...

Oh my lord, yes. His name is Jonathan but I call him Johnny (He HATES it and won't speak to me for minutes when I do). He popped into my head when I saw an anime picture of a boy with bluish hair, glasses, white business shirt, and a cold, cold smirk.

I thought to myself: "Man, that guy looks cold as ice and tough as steel! Bet he's a real jerk". Later the evening, I sat down to write a story and HE popped into my head. We've been in a love/hate relationship every since. I love to hate him and he feels the same. lol.

Am I crazy?

One of my muses is Bahamut. Yes, Bahamut as in the dragon from the Final Fantasy games, only this Bahamut apparently partied too hard at the Esper Frat House. He flies upside down when drunk and is the source of all the unwanted comedy in my stories when I'm trying to be SERIOUS, DAMN IT.

I have several others, but the most significant one is probably Lucia-- but no being of sweetness and light, this one, she is totally the ruthless Knight Templar bitch who somehow manages to turn EVERY well-intentioned character I have into something contemptible. (Because she was the first character of mine to truly go that route-- started off heroic and then turned into a raging zealot.)

(Disclamer for the Eternally Logical: NO, I don't really believe my muses talk to me. It's just more fun to anthropomorphise one's creative urges.)

I actually have two muses at the moment. Lily and Bell, though their names change often.

And they HATE each other. It's starting to drive me insane. Bell seems to specialize in the cliche, sappy, touchy, romantic stories/aspects. Lily on the other hand, focuses on the blood, gore, demented, twisted, and disturbing.

This years novel I was planning on relying on Lily more than Bell but Bell seems to have different plans. She keeps trying to slip romance into my novel when I'm not looking, gay romance to be more precise. I keep trying to convince her that there's not supposed to be any romance in this story but she DOESN'T listen!

It's starting to drive me crazy ='[

It reminds me of the Discworld concept that there's really only one set of gods, but they wear disguises. Your muses sound like Erato and Melpomene to the life. Maybe if you give Lily/ Erato a good drinking scene that leads to some romance (and that you can conveniently axe from the final draft if you want to) she'll get drunk and let Bell/ Melpomene take over.

Good luck!

Yup yup. My muses name is Zakarei, but I just call him Zak. He's been around since I was seven, though he's changed a lot over the years. I also draw him... a lot.... <3

I do adore him, but ahh but why does he tend to disappear as soon as I need him?
