Well..

Since your closest competition is VincentHuck at 16000 words, I think you're going to be here all by yourself for a few more days.

Congratulations!

Let me re-phrase that. The closest competitor who is listed as writing in South Africa is VincentHuck. There might be other people with higher wordcounts, but since they don't put "South Africa" in their location block, we don't know about them.

Okay.

Let's try again.

Your closest competitor is ....

TheInkling in Plettenberg Bay with 19000 words.

Closely followed by Deidre16 who just moved to South Africa from Cape Town.

Proving that Cape Town is not part of South Africa and deserves to be bombed?

MuuHaahaahaarrrr!

Wrong again!

Deirdre16 has also just updated her word count and has snuck ahead ...

Okay, heading back to the keyboard.

Things are hotting up.

And you have a long way to go D7 ... I want to see 10K from you by the end of the day!

10K? By the end of the day?

Are your expectations of me really so low?

Hee-hee ... Sorry D7.

I had noticed only after the post that you had updated since this morning. But you did have me at under 16K, so we're even now!

Right 12 000 by the end of today!

Of course you should be proud! You're ahead of schedule, which is great.

But don't let that stop you from ducking out of work. It's Friday, after all. If you're in Cape Town, you will have learnt that it's not part of SA anyway, and is expecting a bombing from the north. No point in mucking about at work at times like these!

(Okay. I must switch off this Nano, thing now. People will think I'm unemployed!)

Ah - if only - used to be in CT and moved back up to JHB two years ago to do the seriously corporate thing....which by the way is not fun and not good for creativity - even on a Friday:) Cant they bomb jhb instead - or at least send in a bomb threat so we can all evacuate and use that time for NaNo????

I agree with Nicky, I suggested he do that too so we can see how far he can go.

Do you write real words or do you punch out each syllable as its own word? :P

I'm not sure I like that word war widget attached to Brabruski's name.

Oh well, someone has to bring up the rear.
