In honor of reaching this admittedly minor milestone, a snippet for your perusal.

'A human being's reaction time is highly variable, and calculating the average time for a given individual under a given set of circumstances is a very complex matter indeed. On average, though, a normal, healthy person can react to an expected stimulus in about zero point seven seconds, zero point five of which are used in reaction time, with the remaining point two seconds used for movement. The man's thumb received impulses from the appropriate section in the man's brain, directing it to move toward the palm of the man's hand. The muscles received the impulses and contracted as instructed. The thumb, which had been lightly resting on the button of a small radio transmitter, pressed inward as far as it could, until resistance caused by the transmitter's casing forced it to stop after travelling only a fraction of an inch. It didn't matter; it was enough."
