My YAY is that I love my WriMos. So far this year I have met 19 of you in person (some I've met before, but most have been new people) plus a lot of others in the chat room, and I expect to meet even more of you as the month goes on. (I've run out of goodie bags though, it's stickers only from here on in.)

And we have nearly 60 WriMos with their home region set to NI who have registered a word count (and if you don't have your home region set, please do it! - http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/og/home) which is already more than the total for last year. (Some people don't enter their count till the end of the month, believe it or not....)

And over half the WriMos homed to NI are NEW. Which is pretty damn amazing.

And you're clocking up some pretty impressive word counts already - you can play with the Word Count Scoreboard to see who we're beating in total and averages.

So thank you all for making my November a bit brighter.

For the first time, I could check the "Social Scribe" box on my card :)
I've managed to hit the target everyday - and even exceed it !
I made a bad start with the story but managed to get it all back on track - without cheating. I had my character start over and made it part of the story.

Started late and it's my first time (so be gentle with me!), but just hit the 5,000 barrier and I'm feeling good.

Also just wrote a rather steamy session with my heroine having a head massage, so I need to cool down for a bit!

I hit the 20K very early this morning after having been behind the Word count for a couple of days! :D
I had some fun creating my characters in the Sims (it helps me visualize them better) and posted an extract on my blog - well, after another French Wrimo asked me, but I'm still reluctant about putting it in my novel info.

Finally hitting the halfway total as I didn't think I would have enough words to get this far.

25000 / 50000 words. 50% done!

Apparently I staggered past the halfway mark somewhere between cairnryan and larne tonight.... not bad for someone who was basically in a car for the past 5 days doing the navigating if not out walking.

I just managed a 5,000 word weekend, despite not even being in the house for most of it (was too busy moving things for my flooded-out friend) and despite being absolutely shattered and not really in the writing mood while I was home.

It's great what an incentive thinking 'oh, just another hundred and I'll make 16,000' or 'just two hundred more and I'll reach today's target', and especially 'oh, just another hundred and I'll have managed a 5k day' can be...

And I'm starting to get caught up; well, I'm not slipping any further behind anyway.

I thought everything was going bad because I couldn't get enough time during the first two weeks to write much but luckily during the weekend and today I've managed to write 13,000 words even though I messed up my sleeping habit once again doing so, but still...it was completely worth it. :D

I hit the 40K last night!! :D I didn't let a power cut caused by the storm stop me : I waged a word war against my laptop battery! ;)

I'm a couple of days ahead on word count and now I'm on the home stretch! I really wish I didn't have an assignment due on the 30th, I want to write instead!

Somehow I've actually managed to stick with the one story this year... mostly. I had a couple of dream sequence tangents to get me past some crappy days, but I've worked them into the story. The writing workshop gave me a second wind and helped me take a different approach to the writing so it's flying now. Just a shame I don't have as much time as I'd like to spend on it.

Expect to see a purple bar in the next few days! :D

Edit: Actually, when do they enable the word count validator?
Edit 2: Never mind, found it. It's in test mode until the 25th.
