My ARGH is that a lot of bad stuff has happened this month to leave me a bit behind. I'm flying home to Wales tomorrow for a funeral (although at least planes + trains = time to write), and the other night, my friend's house flooded and we spent most of yesterday saving as much of her stuff as possible.
I just want the rest of the month to go as smoothly as possible...

I have 3 days off in the week, which gives me plenty of time to write - and I'm not making the most of it ! >_< I spent most of thursday watching Dr Who DVDs and wrote hardly a 100 words in the evening. I'm not doing it again in the coming weeks!
@Farfalla : I hope everything will be OK again :)

My ARGH is that I've been falling behind due to coursework and social activities. Both of which I have more of in the upcoming weeks. Ahhhhhh! I have plenty of time to catch up on weekends but I also have to catch up on sleep and rest then too. So it's all a bit mad trying to get everything squeezed in.
I should also probably stop playing games on facebook!

I'm exactly the same! I only joined yesterday so I'm already behind and with school work and friends there is just not enough time in the day! That and farmville on facebook is veryyy addictive!

Even though I got a fair bit ahead in the first few days, now I'm struggling a bit with the daily word count. The words aren't coming as easily and the characters are annoying me a bit. They're kinda boring now that they've got together and started being sickeningly mushy. :P
Going to check out the dares thread I think. Or give the FMC a long lost sibling from another universe just for a change of scene. ;)

I've got a stubborn cold that just when I think I've got it beaten I end up feeling lousy again. When unfortunatly meant I did almost nothing on friday between being exhausted and work. I'll try to catch up again this weekend but so far it's slow going....

Well, with my massive word cound of 1136 words after the first week, I am really really REALLY behind, but this week was just so busy! I am hoping to catch up a bit now and tomorrow, but considering I have no idea where my story will take me, I am quite proud of having written 1136 words without a clue...

The fact that no matter how hard I try, I'm always behind in the word count... tonight I'll try extra hard to make another few thou. words pop up and hopefully I'll catch up for the 8/11 wordcount... fingers crossed!

My ARGH is that I'm just barely on the heels of the daily word counts EVERY SINGLE DAY...and I need to find time for my studies as well! ARGH!

Time for another moan from me - I thought I could get caught up a bit this weekend because I'd have time to write while on the train yesterday, and not much else to do today except write.
----------I was wrong. And I'm slipping further and further behind and feeling pretty discouraged and unenthused even though I've done my 50k before and can do it again dammit. I really should just do some word sprints in the chat room to keep me going, but I can't be bothered. And if I even get a chance to write tomorrow, never mind actually doing some writing, I'll be very surprised.

Well, after working on my second chapter last night, I went to bed, only to wake up after about an hour with a jolt, because I realised (or my whirring subsconciousness realised) that my new chapter made no sense, that it contradicted what I had already written, and that I better come up with something to fix this mess.
AAAAARGH!
I spend my night tossing and turning and having strange dreams about my plot.
In the morning, the black pig came to the rescue! Or rather, the flying black pigs. They got me out of this plothole. Flying black pigs to explain otherwise contradictory statements! Phew! Story rescued!
Still, I am so behind. I would need to lock myself into a tower, like Rapunzel, switch off the Internet, and just write. And my hair isn't long enough for any distractions...

I think I managed to get very slightly ahead one day and am now behind target again. I'm trying not to look at the stats very often. It could be like loosing weight, the more often you hop on the scales, the less likely you are to keep morale high and focus on the real deal, loosing the occasional pound or in this case writing the story. I check once I load up a new tally or maybe every second time. If you are a real cool customer of course yuo could check once a week, but that would take a bit more nerve than I have.
The only other thing I try to avoid is reading what I've done. There lies a world of misery.
As for my hair...not even long enough to escape a bungalow

The biggest thing that went wrong, for me, is simply that after writing about four thousand words of my intended novel I ran dry as another idea beat me up from the inside out. So, I caved in and started writing the 'new' novel about four or five days ago.
Sitting at just over 11k, now, and hoping that this doesn't happen again as I don't think that I could face starting for a third time :)

Remember to include any words you wrote before your restart into your final 50,000. You wrote them, after all. (I know you're technically supposed to write 50k on a single project, but sometimes restarting is the only way to finish something at all.)

Well after almost catching up on saturday and sunday my word count was slaughtered by an all day meeting on monday followed by trekking around the country to pick up some other people from the airport and today it moved on to my spilt shift day coupled with packing for the trip to england and completely slaugtered me.
Well off to England back on monday hopefully with many more words!!!!

I have realised that my amount of short stories that make up the bigger story will not be enough. I had thought I would need between 12-14 subjects to write about and now I am realising it should be at least 20.
This is because when I started I was going to make each short story last about 5,000 words and now reading what I've been writing they are more like 2,500 per story.
I'm glad that horror has such a big range of monsters as such or I would be in trouble.

I am close to giving up this year. I am just so stressed and exhausted right now and I'm finding it hard to find the time to write at all these days.

This might sound like weird advice coming from your ML.... But don't be afraid to quit. Sometimes for the sake of your sanity and wellbeing and 'real' life, you just have to accept that your job and college work and all the crap going on in your life take precedence over something that is, after all, intended to be fun.
And if you've managed to write anything so far, then you've at least done something! Around 20-30% of WriMos never actually even post a word count, after all...
That said, if you think there's any kind of chance that you can make it through the month and make it to 50k (or maybe even a lesser goal) /and/ still manage everything else that's going on... just think how proud you'll be of yourself on December 1st!
----------(Frankly, that's mostly what's keeping me going through this month...)

Yay for first post....
My current word count is pitiful. I'm so far behind, that it isn't even funny. Real life was calling, catching up on photography assignments, and also shifts in work have all set back my writing. So now, my challenge is to churn out 50k in a little over half the time.
I have my entire plot planned out, it's just finding time to stretch the plot into a novel, and also stopping myself from being distracted by photography... Eurgh.
Woe is my writing.

I am on the same pityful level as imasuperhero...
I now know what I want to write. I even dream about the story (balls of wool everywhere!), but I just don't seem to find the time to write it down. So, right now I am settling for a smaller goal of 10,000 words. If I end up with 10,000 words on 30 November, I'll be happy. If I suddenly happen to spout words like an overflowing kettle, I won't be complaining either...

*whimper*
As if it wasn't bad enough that the rest of the month has been one great big disaster (or as I'm calling it, 'Two Floods and a Funeral'), I'm now utterly dosed with a rotten cold that is making me miss yet another Monday Belfast write-in, and was the cause of me not writing anything yesterday, thereby slipping even further behind...
I just want this month to be over. Right now. (And for me to miraculously have written another 20,000 words.)
