No great bits of wisdom for ya today.

How is your word count doing?

I've been writing on the overnight shift this week, getting most of the day's writing done between 10 PM and 3 AM. I got Day 6's word count done early Friday and decided to take Friday night off. (That decision was aided and abetted by your pep talk for yesterday. I did need a little time off :D.) Anyhoo, I'm just getting started on today's writing, so I'll be back later to report how it goes.

Thanks to 26 ounces of chai I wrote 4178 words in 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Gonna log off the computer now to do a victory lap around mantra and create some mayhem.

WHEEEEEE! Go nano go!

I'm working on it! Not there yet, but the story is moving nicely, despite the distractions of the weekend.

Thanks to the first caffeine I've had in 10 days and a teensy, tiny bit of retail therapy (More books! Cheap, used, and extra loved around the edges - my favorite kind), I'm halfway home. This side feels really, really good.

Ahhh.
I went from being way over my word count to being a day behind.

This is all because my family decided that they would go out and buy a Wii today, along with Zelda: Twilight Princess, which is my favorite game ever.

So I spent the last five hours playing that instead of writing. Oops.

So I'm currently at 10185.

*groans* My day got eaten up by what I hope to be my second to last standardized test of my life: The SATs. Ugh, there's six hours of my life I'll never get back. But I have 11,677 words written and am looking forward the write in at Di Tazza's tomorrow!

Only half my word goal today, but the good half! Great scene, if short, and I enjoyed writing it when I was actually just going to sit down and force out 500 words or so to make sure I didn't have a zero word count day. It's so nice when the writing becomes fun and easy instead! I got through the scene and I have a great starting point for tomorrow's scene. I shouldn't have any trouble making up the words tomorrow.

Happy writing!

I intended to stop about 1200 words ago, but then I thought, "Oh, I'll just see where I am in the standings and then I'll try to move up one page." Well, once I got started I didn't stop. That was good for the word count, bad for the wrist. Oh well--I like adding a few thousand to my count every day--it makes me happy.
