Cebu Nanoers - Plan for write-ins and meet-ups.

I'm based in Manila at the moment, but am a Cebuano at heart. Hehe. My cousins and I have a couple of restaurants in Cebu; if you need a venue, let me know, and I'll talk to my partners about giving you guys use of a function room and/or a discount on food.

Do you have any suggestions?I'm thinking that if we do meet-up it could be somewhere like either Ayala or SM since those 2 are the bigger more popular malls in Cebu. personally i would prefer Ayala...but anywhere is fine too. IT park also seems like a good idea i think..

The possibility of write-ins/Nano-events happening here in Cebu makes me excited! If it does happen i'll do my best to drag my friend along as she's also joining Nano this year..that way we could be more in attendance :)

My family owns a restaurant called Handuraw Pizza. We have a branch on Gorordo Avenue just down the way from UP Cebu, and one on General Maxilom Avenue in One Mango Avenue (across Mango Square). The Gorordo branch has a function room, and I can ask my cousins if you guys can use it as your venue. Don't know if I can offer freebies, but probably a discount. The disadvantage is it's not at a mall, but I believe it's fairly quiet in the afternoons.

oh!i know that place!my brothers and their friends used to celebrate their birthdays and play in the internet cafe there.
the branch i've been to is the Gorordo branch...I haven't seen the function room though, but if you will push through with your offer for the venue then I most certainly wouldn't object to meeting up there. :)

do you have any suggestions about the scheduling of write-ins?
from what i know so far, i think i will be free after 3pm this saturday..and the same goes for saturday nov 28.. :)

All right. :) I'll call one of my cousins and let her know, then give you guys details. It's also a wifi zone, and I think you can just ask for the password (though I think you may have to buy something)...

I prefer the Gorordo branch. It's quiet there and maybe we can concentrate working out our nano thing.
I am free after 5 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on sats.

Hi guys.

I'm gonna reserve Nov 14 and 28 from 3pm to 6pm for NaNo-ers just in case---my cousin (the boss hehe) has agreed to a 10% discount on those dates for people who attend the write-in. I'll make sure you guys get the function rooms. Will reserve early because we are starting to get requests for Christmas parties. :P

I won't be there (except in spirit), but good luck to all Cebuano-NaNos!

Just wanted to ask who will be going tomorrow..cause i'm a little bit worried about the attendance.^^;;
this is pushing through right?regardless, of the size?or lack there of?haha..
my fingers are crossed that hopefully there will be more than just 2 people who will go.(because if there will just be 2 people will we still push through?just asking..)

Even if it IS just you two, I still say you go---two being better than one. And if we have NaNo events during the year or next year, at least you guys'll know each other already right? :P

unfortunately i was unsuccessful in convincing my friend to go as well...she had a prior appointment, but i'm still trying to convince her.

i mean what happens?(i'm asking since i've never tried participating in one before, so i really don't know what to expect) haha

Thanks Liana for the venue. The staff were so cheerful and polite. We are planning to have another write-in and maybe this time around more participants are coming.
