So okay.. I've found myself not able to write during the day much. I get all distracted and unfocused. I end up writing at night, mostly late. Its really weird how I function. I'm a night .. writer.

I have a Kit...tycat. Two, actually. One of them is nice and leaves me alone while I'm working or writing, the other one walks, lies on or gets between me and the keyboard quite frequently. I'm pretty sure it's no help at all.
But from what I've seen, I'm pretty sure she has turbo boost...
I always end up writing at night too, at least Monday to Friday. It's not because I get distracted, but because I have to work; I've actually found in the past that I do my best writing during the daytime, especially on bright days. But I can't write while I'm working, or I'd never get my work done! (Last year, I was working weekends too; thank goodness I'm not this year!)
On the weekends, though, I write at any time of day, and often try to be done with my writing before the evening hits, so I can spend time with my wife as well as my novel.

I've discovered that I like to sleep at night, so I write on the weekends. It's all very low key and I'd welcome a kit-ty cat break... if I was in proximity of a cat.

It certainly can be pleasant...I wouldn't trade in either cat for anything. But when I'm trying to work - or when my writing is really flowing - well, that cat-shaped space right in front of me would be nicer if there wasn't a cat in it at precisely that moment.

I too, try more than actually do during the day. I felt pretty good about knocking 1k out earlier, but then got distracted will silly stuff. I generally prefer the quiet of late night.

Maybe I'm lucky just to be where I am, then; I've often read about writers moving to the woods, forests or mountains, and it is certainly a peaceful place to write, much of the time. There are sometimes sounds of houses being built - always more houses, even in this market - but it's still nothing like the sound of a city, or even a relatively modern small town that's built to a suburban model. It's the quietest place I've lived, even though I've lived in places with a tenth of its population; like as not, because everyone is spread out.

Any time I get a free minute is when I write. Which actually isn't any different from before. I put three screenplays on hold this month. Half written screenplays, vying for my attention. "No," I said to them. "This is National Novel Writing Month. Besides, I give scripts an unfair amount of attention. Remember ScriptFrenzy? And how I write scripts outside of April?" The three screenplays then bowed their heads in shame, sorry that they had tried to steal attention away from the novels I am working on this month.
(Sorry about that, I'm having a totally weird day today.)

My family (I'm living with them again for now), tend to schedule things during the day. Or I have to do things then. I'm more of a night person anyway so I tend to write from 6pm to midnight, then try to go to sleep. If I can't I'm back on here for a bit.
I have a habit of just writing whatever between 6pm and 12 am, then if I'm up early evening, I add details.
