Hey, gang. Hope the novels are going well and 10K is at least in sight.
I'm a Journalism major up at Rowan, and am doing my final project for one class about NaNoWriMo. It's going to be a massive, 2,000-word magazine style article, and I need at least three sources.
I'd love to hear from people all over the region who are brand new, done this for years, are in college, have families, whatever! Variety is key, and I'm interested in anything you all are willing to offer me.
If you'd like to contribute to my A in the course, just reply here and I'll message you with the details!
Best,
Melissa (email: yssimp89 at aol dot com)

If you're looking for someone who's trying, but doesn't look like they're going to reach 50,000 words, then I'm your girl! :)

10K is nowhere in sight. I haven't written since Sunday (I've had the flu or a really nasty cold through this week and have been barely able to concentrate on midterms at college, let alone the story) but, give me two or three days and I'll be back on track, if not ahead of the quota I set for myself.
If you need to interview me, go right ahead! Perhaps I could persuade some friends of mine to be interviewed as well? I know three people (not in SJ... don't know if that's a requirement) who might be able to help.

I'm totally up for it. This is my second year. I didn't make it last year but I learned a lot so I'm trying to use those lessons to kick some butt this year! I'm also going to do Nano while on high doses of Clomid (fertility drugs) and hopefully undergoing my first fertility treatment, so that should add an extra layer of insanity to the whole month!

Sounds like a great way for me to procrastinate more XD 10k in sight, but still seeming out of reach. But i'm working on it! Just wasted 4 hours I could have been writing taking the SATs again though. Stupid college prep. (don't think I improved my score either xP)
I think I'm available if you still need people (which looks like you don't, but oh well. Offer's still up). My little sister (12) is also doing YWP, so if you're curious about that I'm sure she wouldn't mind answering some questions through me.

You all are AMAZING. :D
Naturally, I don't think I can use everyone. But does anyone have a particularly interesting story or history about being involved? Whoever said their little sister is in YWP is a good example.
Thanks so much! This story is going to be super.

I'm not sure that I have anything particularly interesting about my involvement as compared to other people, but I'm willing to help out however I can.
One subject that might be interesting to ask about is the strangest place people have written during NaNoWriMo - I think the question was on one of the forums somewhere last year and some people had some pretty fascinating answers. So far this year I think the closest I've come to a strange place is jotting notes during church choir practice while the director was rehearsing other voice parts, though overall I think the strangest place I've worked on a NaNo is in the stands between bands at the state championships marching band competition. I bet there's people in the region who have even more interesting places that they've worked on their novels.

First timer, in college, and pretty much looking at this as a stepping stone to help me reach the ultimate career goal (writing for film).
Here if you need me. =]

For 'particularly interesting', I was going to be interviewed about my NaNo 2006 novel a year ago for a company newsletter. The person who was assigned to do the interview didn't know anything about it, so they asked around to find out who did. They then went to the person who knew about NaNo and science fiction (me) and asked them to interview the person who had finished NaNo and writ a science fiction novel (also me).
So I wound up interviewing myself for the company newsletter. Like seven pages of me-talking-to-me dialogue. It got... OK, the original had to be edited (for PC purposes) down to three pages, and work STOPPED when the original was leaked, as people were giggling like little schoolgirls.
I could go look and see if I've got a copy of the original around here somewhere.
