I'm in Dearborn and I'm looking for a writing buddy or two to help me keep on track. I've been slacking and I need someone to spur me on either with inspiration or (more likely) competition. I have various other obligations that I will need to be encouraged to ignore during this month. So, please, buddy-to-be, leave your conscience at home! Help me blow off my family and friends for this endeavor and deny guilt over piles of laundry and unwashed dishes. If this sounds like your kind of hook-up, let me know.

I am going to try to make it to the Westland write-in this morning, but I have to leave early for a PTSA meeting (see, I really need help!) and will be leaving by 2:15.

Contact me at qgb69@yahoo.com if you are interested in a needy, novice, nanowrimo buddy.

Jen,
Where are you located in Dearborn? The reason I ask is because you are more than welcome to join the Downriver write in in Taylor on Monday nights. I hope it's not too far away for you.

Kendra,

Thanks for your input. I thought the Monday downriver folks were meeting at Panera in Southgate. I may still stop in, but I'm looking for a more individual thing too. I need someone for phone calls and e-mails. Years ago, my room-mate and I wanted to start working out. Neither one of us would go to the gym on our own with any consistancy, but we would push each other so that we went every day. If it wasn't the nag factor, not wanting to be the wimpy/lazy one would shame us into it, or competition. We ran the gamut of ploys and it varied from day to day who was the slacker, but we got to the gym each day. That's the kind of thing I'm hoping to find in a writing buddy. Well, that and a great vocabulary.

In the meantime, I have Dr. Wicked's "Write or Die" keeping me honest-ish (4000 words since yesterday, yeah me). Of course I have to log into the page for it to work and I can see where I'm going to need to be prodded to do that in the near future.

I may see you Monday night though.

I wish everyone excessive verbage.

I'll totally be your writing buddy! I work during the day and I'm SO tired when I get home, so I need an extra push too. :-)
