*** FYI, I don't have any connection whatsoever with MacHeist. I never even downloaded anything from them before this morning, but... ***

I don't know if you've ever heard of MacHeist, but it's a website that puts together bundles of Mac shareware apps for deeply discounted prices. Right now they have an offer that you just might want to go check out, $149 worth of Mac apps available for free, including the WriteRoom and Mariner Write word processors. Their calling it the nanoBundle.

WriteRoom is a "distraction free" word processor that runs in full-screen mode to allow you to focus entirely on what you're doing. It's perfect for NaNoWriMos who have attention problems. Also, it's normally $25, but right now you can get it for free.

Mariner Write is a really kick-ass alternative to OpenOffice, Pages, or Microsoft Office that normally goes for $50. Once 500,000 users download the MacHeist bundle, that one will be free as well, although it hasn't been unlocked yet. Right now you can download it and use it in demo mode, but they aren't giving out the registration codes yet. That's actually my motivation for pimping this here on NaNoWriMo, because I am hoping enough people will register at MacHeist to unlock Mariner Write. I love Mariner Write.

Both of these word processors are Microsoft Word compatible. Which is awesome.

A final note, it's not free but the folks behind the Mac writing app Scrivener are also running a special deal for NaNoWriMos over at their website.
