Today is Back Up Your Novel day - so don't forget. And make sure the back up is stored off of your computer so it won't crash if your computer does. If you don't know how, just ask.

Also, there is a mini-goal of hitting 15,000 words before you go to bed Monday night.

Good luck everyone!

If you do not already have "Cloud" backup. Try www.getdropbox.com for windows or mac OS X. This program puts a folder on your hard drive and anything you put into it gets synced to the cloud. If you have the program on more than one computer it also syncs to other computers. You get 2gb of space for free. I love this little service and I am able to keep a copy of my work on 3 different computers (2 mac and a pc btw)

I am writing this novel in scrivener for mac, but it is nice to have an up to date file on both of my macs so I can write whenever I have time regardless of where I am.

Disclaimer (for the feds): I am not getting anything for free except the 2gb of storage everyone else gets. :-)

Here's an extra reminder to back up your novel.

My husband"s computer had a little hiccup the other night and I can't describe the panic I felt for HIS unbackedup novel. If it had been mine, I'm sure I would have been laying on the floor hyperventilating or something equally dramatic. All's well now, but backing it up before something like this happens is the way to go.

No excuses, just go do it now.
