SD WriMos-

It is with sadness that I have to announce that the Saturday Write Ins are being switched from Monica's at the Park to The Living Room on El Cajon Blvd. Last year when Monica's was still just starting out, we were more than welcomed to hang out with our laptops, drink coffee, eat scones and type away. At today's Write In, Monica threatened to kick the group out because she needed the tables for her regular customers. A fellow WriMo commented last year that he like Monica's and hoped that the chic cafe did well enough to stay in business but not so well that he couldn't get a table. Unfortunately, it appears that Monica's doesn't need nor want our business anymore.

With that, I hope to see you all at The Living Room from 7:30 AM to the last WriMo packs up their laptop every Saturday morning. During the week, I'll get the change made to the calendar. Happy Typing...

I've already changed the calendar, and I'll also let everyone know in the next email that I send out. I really liked Monica's but the living room is pretty cool too.

I'm sorry to hear we got booted from Monicas. Isn't it kind of a given that coffee bar customers buy a drink and take up space for a long time? It's a pity because I did like the place.

Why didn't you pick a another coffee bar in University Heights, like Cream or Twiggs? Isn't the Living Room way off in College area?

Hey Bettina-

Mike suggested The Living Room after the incident at Monica's and several people mentioned that it was a good spot, close to their homes, when we were there for the Plot In. It's actually a lot farther for me as I'm coming from Point Loma but I'm happy writing where ever people are willing to go.

Maybe we can pick a Sunday Spot in University Heights? Up for hosting :-)

I'm in OB -- maybe a Point Loma/OB write in is called for, plenty of places on Newport Avenue, like Yr Mama's Mug and Java Jungle.

That makes sense LSchultz. I bow to majority rule. ;-) I'm not able to commit to hosting a weekend write-in but maybe a weeknight one.

I work in Point Loma. Are you available any weeknight? Thursdays are best for me and Mondays are unavailable.

Pomegranate-

I could do a weekday night, but it would have to be after 7:30PM or so - I need to be around to put the little guy to bed. Would you be interested in meeting up at the Living Room on Roscrans near the SDCCU? I can do almost any night.

I won't make it to the Living Room this Saturday. I sprained my wrist the end of last week and have it in a splint (how's that for an excuse for my low word count?). I'm trying to limit my driving til I get rid of the splint, so I'm going to the Mira Mesa one instead this week (it's way closer to Poway). I'll try for next week though. Hope it's a great write-in!
