I was feeling pretty good by breaking 10,000 today. I've never done so much so early on! But then I looked at the stats page, and I realize I need to have 15,000 by tomorrow?

Is it me, or does the daily goal grow exponentially every time you look at it too? Was going to just close up and sleep, but I'm going to aim for another 500 words (probalbly while I'm falling asleep in bed, like I did a few nights ago. I have no idea what I wrote, but I kept typing and Dr. Wicked didn't scream at me.)

I should not be admitting this, but I'm kind of bored of writing everyday. And not just with my story. I've also realized that I much prefer descriptive and persuasive writing to fiction and dialogue. This is kind of unsettling and disappointing. Maybe it will get better?

Can you check in here if you think you might be at the Treehouse on Monday? I want to try to grab a few tables, just want to make sure I know how many to get....

Today is 11.6, tomorrow is 13.3, Monday is 15K. Take a deep breath--we can do this!

Still getting yesterday's goal. So what if it's 3am? I haven't slept yet, therefore the day is not done with.

@amyhaha

Im actually glad to be writing every day. What bothers me is the amount of crap going into my beautiful story. I know it's all about quantity not quality but sometimes im beginning to think Id rather write 500 pretty good words per day than 1667 ok to not-so-good words. On the other hand, although some of what Im writing will get edited out because it's backstory or i need to find another way to incorporate it, at least it's helping me write the story so even if i dont like what scene X looks like now, i can use the material in a different way later

Thanks for the breakdown MissyP, that's a little clearer. I am just using the stats page, it's a little confusing the way they have it set up. I must be mousing on the wrong date.

Rosalie, details for the write in are in that groovy lil calendar box up at the top of the page. The treehouse is in audubon!

cen0taph Saphira & I talked about this last night after shuffling from Starbucks to Starbucks), and I'm actually starting to embrace the idea of "National Backstory Writing Month." I figure, I'd have to write it anyway. If I can get to 50,000 words this month, maybe 10,000 of them will be words I can actually use (as in the pep talk by Jasper Fiorde [sp}). Then I'll be comfortable with moving the story forward.

It's just the volume that's killing me! LOL! But it's good for me, i really do need to be more disciplined.

And editing will be a B*TCH...but this is not the time for editing! 1000 more words begins...now :)

I'm going to be there right after work, so around 5ish. I am at least a few thousand away from 15,000 so hopefully I'll catch up tomorrow. I think I must be a nano weekend slacker, because I seem to make more progress during the week.

Put me in as a maybe - I want to come, but it also depends on what ends up happening tomorrow, and how adventurous I'm feeling in regards to driving, and whether I can manage to find the place, never having been to Audubon before except for maybe a marching band competition where we were too busy getting ready for the show to notice what sort of landmarks were around (though the GPS will be immensely useful in the navigational component of the journey...)

XD same (including the band competition- what school? :) ), except it depends on my mom's driving, lol.
