I would like to start an aim chat Word war. Basically I will start a chat room and invite people who post their aim names on here. Then I will give time intervals in which everyone writes. When the time is up we compare how many words we have written in the allotted time with others. The highest amount of words wins. If you would like to give it a try just reply to this with your aim screen name.

Sounds fun! I don't use AIM, but if you can think of a forum / other alternative, let me know. :)

I've used Yahoo conference chat for write-a-thons before... It's fun! Fifteen minutes writing, 5 minutes socializing. Repeat.

We usually set a time at the top of an hour.. say.. 5:00. You chat for 5 minutes while people arrive, start writing at 5:05 to 5:20. Chat for 5 minutes, write from 5:25 to 5:40. Chat for 5... write from 5:45- 6. This continues until the last person has gone to bed... If you need to drop out for a session (to go eat dinner or something) then you know what the schedule is, and can hop back in at any time.

That sounds good. I'll check that out. I do prefer the quicker sprints of writing personally. 5 to 10 minutes of typing at a time. I'll figure something out and then post back here.

Hi! Friendly competitor over in the Boise Idaho region, was wondering if you did do the yahoo chat conference, if I could join in! It sounds like a lot of fun! ^_^

Consort with the enemy?! HA! I like it!!
We'll type for 5 minutes and socialize for 20. And During that 5, we'll keep you distracted so you really can't get anything done. (just until we catch up with you ;-) It'll be great fun!

Seriously though, if anyone would like to do this, and everyone is welcome to, PM me with your yahoo address and we'll buddy up. Then we can chat to come up with a time that works for the majority.. and announce it here if people haven't joined in yet. (I like to write between 5am and 7am, but can be available most any time with a little creative planning.)

Once you have a few yahoo writing friends, it's super easy to start a conference if 2 or more of you happen to be available. Otherwise, you know, it's just a one-on-one war in the standard chat format. ;-) Which is fun too! I'll make myself less invisible if people need a sparring partner.

My YIM name is lvhobbits. I'm interested. Although I'm generally on in the evening or late at night. You will never see me on here before 10 am.

Hey look, everyone! We're ahead in average word count compared to Boise, by just a little bit!
