Yes, sadly (or happily, depends on how you look at it), a mere 14,165 words into my novel, I actually discovered characters and a plot where before there had been none at all. Nope,no characters, no plot, just oodles and oodles of words, nothing else. Nada. No thing. Zip. Zilch.

And I'm not really sure about the genre, I'm still just writing a story. Or, rather, I'm finally writing a story. Maybe I'll discover what the genre is too, maybe after I write the thing. I'm not going to worry about it, though. I'm so darned glad to have a story to work on, at last! =)

Heh! That's OK. I'm 11,000 words in and I don't even have a title! Weird, because that's usually one of the first things I think of. In fact, that's usually what gets me motivated to write the story in the first place! And now I have NaNo for a motivation and it's keeping me from even knowing what story I'm writing!

So for now, it's:

"Title-less Titlelacker and the Missing Title of Titleburg"

which is... PRETTY good, and flows off the tongue easily enough... but it needs...

Something...

Hey, I like your title. I have a list of possible titles for mine, but I don't have a cover for the book yet. Now that's something I generally have early on or before I even begin. But not this time. Nope, I haven't even had a chance to think about it. After all, I missed the beginning of NaNoWriMo on Sunday and had to catch up on Wednesday after sitting straight up in bed on Tuesday night screaming, Oh No, NaNoWriMo! I had to write four days worth of nonsense in one day. Oy ve! But I did it, that's the important thing.

This is so much fun! And I love the way people look at me differently after they ask me what I'm working on and I tell them I'm writing my latest novel. Ha! I've gotten lots of free coffee and snacks this past week, lemme tell ya! I could get used to pretending to be a writer! Woot! ;)

Haha! I'm still hoping that'll happen to me!
I'm 14003 words in.
People keep asking me what mine is about, and I tell them that it doesn't really have a plot.
They never believe me.
Not quite sure why. xD

Only 162 words to go!
Pfft I'll do it tomorrow.
I'm hoping you've brought me luck!

I hope I brought you some luck, too. :) I'm up to 15,405 now and getting deeper and deeper into my characters' minds and backstory. Now if I could only get them to interact and speak to each other in real time... Or fictional real time... or, oh, I think I'll just get up and grab another cup of coffee and a snack. Three cheers for all night diners with WiFi! Hip hip hoo-ray!
