I'm a freshman nearly finished with my first semester of college. I'm not planning on showing up to my two classes tomorrow, Understanding Art and 3D design.
Okay, so technically it isn't because of NaNo. Last Wednesday and also tomorrow, the teacher told us attendance for those days aren't mandatory, and that it might even be beneficial to miss. We're working on wood ensembles, and since she has a limited supply of power tools and things, and my dad does woodwork as a hobby, I decided not to go. The other class is taught by the same teacher, and I've decided I don't want to wake up at 7:45 in the morning just to be in class until 10 and make my mom drive an unnecessary 30 minutes to pick me up. My carpool and my mom and I would all be much happier if I missed the class, especially since I can afford to do so.
Being able to work on my novel is just a perk. :3

Last Thursday for my theatre stagecraft class we had a "shop day" when we go into the school's prop shop to help them out with sets and whatnot for plays, which are usually divided in half. But since there was so much to do, our teacher told us that even if we went to the last one and therefore didn't have to go to this one, he'd appreciate the help. So I kind of ditched that last week and worked on my novel.
And this Wednesday is Veteran's Day, so all classes are cancelled 8D

Lucky, my school isn't getting it off. Every Wednesday, there are generally no classes at all from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. so they use that time to have fun events hosted by the student activity board. This Wednesday's is going to be a panel of veterans speaking on what it's like to be a veteran. I already know what they will say:
"You kids these days have it easy. When we got back from war, hippies spat on us. No one welcomed us. The government pretended we didn't exist, blah blah blah."
We didn't get out for Columbus Day, either.

I'm not skipping school as much as I am skipping work for school and sleep. For example, when I should be taking notes on The Once and Future King (which is a story I just can't help but adore; the Wart is just so much like my MC) I plan out ideas for my story. Right now, I should be in bed because I've been up practically since midnight two nights in a row because I've been both busy and working on my novel.
And it shows--there's a part that's just pure nonsense that is in dire need of editing. I am going to have a field day with that chapter.

Yep did that on friday. i didn't have class till 10:35 and so i spent the time until then writing. The only problem was i was in such a good story writing mood that i didn't want to kill it, which is what class surely would have done to it. it was the only class i had that day so i skipped.
