Anyone care to fill me in on how you guys play the game? I scanned through the Mafia 10 thread, you guys play a lot differently than I'm used to. o.O
So, there's.. a negotiator? And traitors? And...?
Care to explain, anyone?

I used to play mafia on the Dragon Cave forums, by the way.

As for the negotiator and traitors and what not... those are all twists...
Here are the basics...

At the start of every game there are
2 Red Mafia
2 Blue Mafia
*Mafia's role is to be the last one standing. They accomplish this by every round PMing the narrator (nuwanda in this case) the groups decision to either KILL another player (does not matter if they are doctor, cop, or other mafia, or townie) or attempt to recruit, if they choose to recruit they have to wait on the person being recruited to say yes or no.
If you are bing recruited you are welcome to turn it down if you want to.
1 Red Cop
1 Blue Cop
The role of the cops is to flesh out who the mafia is for their respective colors. They do this by PMing the narrator their guess every round, the narrator says that they are or aren't that color mafia. If they are the cops job is to then convince all the players to hang them.
1 Doctor
The Doctor's job is to save one person every round by PMing the narrator their choice. If that person is in the Mafia's cross hairs, that person will be saved. If not, then no one will be the wiser.
Townies
Vote on who is guilty, wait to be recruited, or killed. Pretty much just hang out.

What happens in a round?
The game starts off with everyone waiting for something to happen, during this time the Mafia, Cops, and Doctors are PMing the narrator with their choices. After al the choices are made and PMed the narrator will write a scene describing what has happened (Red mafia recruited, blue mafia killed, doctor saved... etc.)
After the scene everyone in the game discusses who they think is guilty and vote. TO VOTE, WRITE THE NAME IN ALL CAPS when majority is reached, or time is up the narrator closes voting and then describes the scene. This is where you find out if the person you voted off is guilty of being mafia or not, or being the doctor, or a cop or just a plain ole townie.

when I narrated I put a limit on how many times you could pass. 3 times in a row of not voting and you were out. Whether nuwanda sticks with that or not is up to her, but if she does decide let me warn you, I keep impeccible notes, and post them often, so it will not go unnoticed if you have been innactive.

The negotiators, traitors and everything like that are add ons to the original rules mafia stated before and can change from game to game depending on what the narrator feels like.

How recruitment works is players can pm each other whenever they feel like it without anyone else knowing, and if the mafia wants to add another player to their team they pm the narrator who asks the person if they want to be recruited and if they say yes they become one of the mafia and if they say no then they're still a townie. To prevent the mafia from becoming too powerful they can either recruit or kill someone but not both.

The negotiator was a special addition to the previous games and hadn't been included in any of the other games. As the negotiator I had the power to switch anyone to the townie side; the narrator would inform me someone was being recruited and I had the choice to ask them to join the townie side and become a fake mafia. If they said yes they were a townie in disguise. I don't know if the role carries over into this game or not though; nuwanda could come up with a different role this time and not include the negotiator "twist" at all.

But there is a horrible horrible twist (for some of you) that you yet don't know about.

Voting in all caps is necessary, and also, if anyone wants to play with a character, I accept that, but please don't vote for characters, it's hard to keep track that way.

edit: wow, we have 15 players? I thought we had 12. how did that happen?
