Help my MC has to save 16 people stuck on the roof of a house in a flooded river. How would he do it? he is in a jeep and is with 2 other people can get 3-5 other people if needed. No boat. Water is still rising.

Thinking of a surfboard type thing. Or running a rope across the river maybe a net of some kind?

Help

Anything that can used as a floation device. Old tired, surf boards,,etc..and rope. maybe pull them along,,but not sure if that will work if he is in a jeep...Hummmmm...I will have to give it some more thought..

Zipline.

If the roof has a place where somebody can make any kind of an anchor point, and they have any kind of material, they can fashion a sling or something in which the stranded folk are able to hang on and "slide" down the line. They'll have to go one by one, that's how they do it with actual ziplines done for fun, and they'll zip from the roof to the far shore. Maybe use the jeep as the other anchor?

Visually, you'll have them flying around, screaming, some will be better than others, and all of them will fly off the roof to crash (hopefully not too hard) on the shore of the river. Then they'll be muddy, wet, and ready for whatever comes next...

Laura, there is a Zipline in Boulder city at Bootleg Canyon to get a view of what is needed and how they work. Operates on the weekend. The man who created it recently died, so it sort of got put on the back burner. I was out there a few weeks ago for hubby's bike race and it was operating.

I've had friends who did the zip line and they loved it, however, I can see how much scarier it would be if a flood was going on around you at the time. I also know they said it was so much fun. I have another friend who did it in Cosa Rica and LOVED it... the views were GREAT according to him. Check them out online, to get some ideas....

A BIG thank you to all of you who have helped me. I am not sure how I am going to get the 16 people off the roof but I have used the zip line ideal to get children off a bus stuck on a clupling bridge.

Thanks again
