610,013 words? Is that a misprint? Should it be 61,013?? Anyway, awesome job to you both. I'm closing in on 50,000 and should hit it tomorrow, but will continue writing this novel until completion. K*rry

That's approximately 31,500 words per day/ approx. 63 pages per day, I think this might be getting to War and Peace length

I reached 50, 000 words at 12:45 today. Celebrating right now with a little mambo music. :-)

I have the entire plot sketched out, but I still need more work to flesh out the different characters.

Tonight, I will celebrate with a drink, or two, or three. . .

Finished before midnight yesterday! (Like....half an hour before midnight. And then crammed in an extra 1000 words so I'd hit at least one 5000 word day.) Story is nowhere near done, but I've got momentum on my side. I'm certainly not trying to finish it before the end of Nano, but I figure if I keep cranking out words every day (maybe a bit slower than this month) I'll have it finished before too long. My goal is to have it written and edited before next years Nano. Well doable.

Well done, PhillyFlash! It is exciting to see someone who came to it a little unsure of what to expect get across the line. But you were so enthusiastic at the kick off, I never had any doubt you would!

Many thanks for the kind words. Meanwhile, you're getting closer! If a first timer like me who had no idea what he was doing could cross the finish line, then you can too!

I think there's quite a few of us in the mid-40s who will be dishing out words along with their turkey (or tof-urkey) feasts this year. We have plenty of time AND there is no time to loose. I've got a couple hours in the car over the next few days ... plus, while others are a-napping, I'll be a-tapping!

I look forward to seeing all of you in the winners circle on Monday!

I finished last night (Friday) at approx. 53,000 words and at exactly at the point where the story ended. Throughout the month I had problems with needing to continually harp to myself to write at night after work, but other than that, when I did write the story just poured out of my fingers! I've never written a novel before, so I can't figure out what this means. Either I have an unknown hidden talent, OR a bunch of rubbish spilled out of my fingers! LOL! So now I have a lot of learning to do on how to edit and what to do with this draft.

I am over the river and through the woods. At 12:30 Saturday morning I verified my win. I can now officially wear my nanowrimo winner's T-shirt once I get it. I still have 3 planned scenes to write, and The Littlest Vampire's Christmas (Littlest Angel meets Twilight) to write next month. Hope to see some of you at NanoFimo. http://nanofimo.org/
There's no star and no angels singing...but it still is a pretty glorious night.

Awesome, way to go Art, you've reached the promised land. I posted in your subject about staying together after nano and definitely want to . I've made the link for nanofimo.org a favorite and will check it out because I'm definitely finished this novel I'm writing, "The Reptilian Factor". I don't think I can make the get together, those dates aren't good for me. But I'd still love to get together sometime in December. K*rry
