I just have to take this opportunity to say, 24 days into NaNo, that you guys are the coolest region ever. I love the positive energy that everyone has, and how supportive you all are towards each other and this crazy project. It’s pretty rare that a big group of strangers with the freedom to post anonymously can keep things friendly and constructive. AkroNaNos rock!
We’re in the home stretch now. It will be kind of bittersweet when November is over. The first and only time I’ve ever been able to write “The end.” on a novel was last year’s NaNoWriMo. All my other novel attempts were unfinished. Regardless of what your word count is at the end of the month, did you write more than you did last month? If your answer is “yes,” than you have succeeded.
If you feel that you’ve been more productive and creative this month than you would have been without NaNo, please consider buying some of their merchandise or donating (no pressure!). Should you decide to donate to the Office of Letters and Light at nanowrimo.org, BE SURE to put your correct NaNo user name in the form. Otherwise you won't get your halo. Ask me how I know (damned halo cost me twenty bucks). Seriously, a year from now you will never miss $10 (or $20), but you will remember this November for the rest of your life.

We are officially Above Average! Akron is above the worldwide average for NaNoWriMo donations, percentage-wise. That is amazingly generous, considering that Akron has to be one of the hardest hit economies around.
When I count my blessings this Thanksgiving, AkroNaNos are definitely on the list. You guys REALLY rock!
