Every year, about a week after we go back to our "normal lives" and do things like "sleep" and "wash dishes", we have a TGIO Party, to celebrate all we've accomplished.
We gather, tell war stories of our month's journey, and possibly read bits of our novel to each other.
Also, there is eating. Mmmmm. Eating.
Does anyone have any ideas for where we'd like to meet up/if you can make it? Figured we could do 12/4, 12/5, or 12/6 and meet for lunch? dinner?
Any ideas on when/where? I'll have to make a reservation, so I'll probably post another survey in a little bit.

Well, personally, I'd prefer something in the Upper Valley (near White River Junction) area. If people want to come over/up to the Bradford area, even better. :-) But I suspect that there are more VT NaNo's hoping for a Burlington-ish party.
So..compromise? Barre/Montpelier?
If it's within range, I could probably make it to dinner on any of the three days, or lunch on Saturday.

Any place in Montpelier where a crowd could gather? I love Sarducci's. How about a Sunday Brunch somewhere???

I'm all for doing something in a different part of the state, but neither Kevin nor I will be able to make anything outside of the Burlington area - just too many hours to stick the other one with the kids if we have to drive an hour each way too.
We've gotten to go to other things though, so if Montpelier gets the vote, have fun! :)

I'd love to go, but I'm going to be out of state for the aforementioned weekend.... I'm still hoping to maybe get to a write-in at some point. I don't know if it will happen, but I'm hoping. I really do want to actually meet you all!

Lunch on the 5th or 6th sounds good. Friday evening is good too. Montpelier is pretty central. Burlington is far... but I believe it is also the International Fair? So maybe we can all go shopping too...

I've had some people indicate that Sunday is the best day for them off list. I would put in my vote for Sunday as well. I will do anywhere really, but as much as I love Sarducci's (and don't get me wrong, I would marry Sarducci's, I would have Sarducci's babies) I am priced out of anything too expensive and that usually includes them. The Wayside on the other hand...
For Burlington spots, I for real think we should do party at Pizza Putt. Seriously. There is nothing like lazer tag or challenging Norm to DDR to work out any post nano stress ;)

What about a coffee house somewhere? My daughter "cortana" suggested it and I thought it was kind of funny considering how much coffee most of us have been consuming in December. Although, I have to say....Pizza Putt sounds like a hoot too!

Pot luck at my place anyone? Near the top of a mountain in Williamstown. I'm not kidding - I'm not allowed out....

My concern about a coffee house would be the risk of overwhelming the place. The Burlington area get-togethers I've been to have had attendance upwards from a dozen people. An all-Vermont event could be one of our biggest yet, but would probably still be at least that dozen minimum. That's a lot to dump into a busy coffee house. ;)
For central VT, I like the suggestion made above of the Wayside - if you haven't eaten there, it's GREAT "small Vermont dining" style food. Love the place! Like Albreda said above, we wouldn't be able to go that far, but if you pick that area, it's a great choice. Pizza Putt and laser tag sounds like fun for the Burlington area, too!

I'm liking a Sunday, wayside or pizza putt is good. I think I'm going to the Speilpalast auditions on Sunday anyway, so will prob only make one trip (it's 2 hours each way) and would love to do both...

Well, folks could be REALLY brave, and do the Wayside for Brunch/lunch, and THEN go to Pizza Putt for some gaming fun.
>:)
Heck, I might even be able to ship Kevin off to the Wayside with John (if he can get this far?), and then I could maybe bring the kids to Pizza Putt to join you all, if Kevin didn't want to leave the fun yet. :)
(Laser tag is pretty pricey, just fwiw - about $5 a go, and no way to watch if you aren't playing. Watching Norm on DDR sounds like a hoot though. ;)
