Ouch. Too close. You stepped on my foot. Let’s tiptoe behind this tree so we won’t be seen.

One of our Saskatchewan writers moved to Edinburgh, Scotland this year. She claims she is looking forward to November there but I have my suspicions. I think they’ve taken her against her will, brainwashed her, and forced her into the unspeakable act of adding her words to their region’s totals. Yes, that’s right: Edinburgh may have committed the despicable, unthinkable act of wordnapping!

...Okay, I don’t actually have any proof of this, but on the other hand, I’ve seen no evidence to contradict my theory.

So here’s what I propose: a combined Saskatchewan+Montana vs. Edinburgh showdown this year. Let’s cast aside our differences and unite to fight a common foe.

What do you mean, Edinburgh isn’t your foe?

You should have heard what they said about you. Yeah, that’s it. The stuff they said. I won’t repeat it here but it was pretty bad. Trust me.

So are you in? Can we count on Montana’s unconditional, unwavering, unquestioning, unsuspicious support in our mission against Edinburgh? We can? Right on! Let the 2008 Incredible International Challenge begin.

Once we know who is interested and get some consensus on meeting times and places--then i will post those meetings on the calendar. I have a limited amount of Nanowrimo stickers to give out too. And maybe some other goodies!

Bozeman

Hey, I'm opening the Bozeman thread back up since it appears the server nommed the other one when it went down. (And if the thread magically appears later... oops...)

As way of re-introduction, I'm from Bozeman and this is my second NaNoWriMo. I'm a successful winner from last year and looking forward to having fun again this year.

I was able to participate in almost every write-in and get-together last year and I'd be willing to help organize such things this year if there isn't anyone else 'officially' doing this already.

I felt that meeting at Barnes and Noble and Hastings worked the best since they offered both coffee and stayed open late (since most people were more available for write-ins later in the day). I know Barnes and Noble has Wi-fi (not free, if I recall) and I don't remember if Hastings has Wi-fi.

I am available to get together early in the afternoons if that's more convenient for some people.

Anywho, give another shout if your other one got erased.

Word Counts

As of this morning November 13, Montana has 1,440,608 words total with 108 participants posting word counts! That averages 13,338 words per person! Keep up the good work!

My personal plan is to be at 25,000 words tonight.

And if you want inspiration for what is possible I just recently learned of a participant who is over 500,000 words! A Nanowrimo named Hanxa is writing at an incredible pace. Look up her profile and she will tell you how she does it!

I might be able to up my word counts to 5,000 a day but I doubt I could do 20,000 a day! Holy cow!

Everybody out there in Nano land--just write, write, write!

It is something that I am very passionate about and I know that I'll be doing it for as long as I live. I write poetry, articles, screenplays and novels (duh!).
