Hi. It's Tammy. I won NaNo last year according to word count, although I hadn't finished my story by 11/30. This year, I aim to accomplish both goals.

I live in North Coventry, which is the northern tip of Chester County, making me ammenable to meet-ups, write-ins, etc. in everywhere from Reading to King of Prussia to Exton.

When not participating in NaNo (and cursing my PowerBook for having a loose "I" cap on the keyboard), I'm an editor for a healthcare publisher in KoP and a freelance book reviewer. Hello all you Reading wrimos in wrimoland. :D I know you're there. I've heard you poking the Berks county thread. I know there are more of you than usually visit us.

I'm making this thread because you're all fabulous, and my personal nano tradition is to hang out in the Wyomissing Borders cafe on Friday and Saturday nights and wait for other writers to have write-ins with me/us, and then later sometimes stalk the local IHOP (which will be woefully disappointing now that our favorite waiter no longer works there. :( ). Weeknights, unfortunately, are less easy for me, since I'm a Boyertown native, and that's a 45 minute drive no matter how you slice it, and work in the morning and all that jazz... But the rest of you are more than welcome to make plans that don't involve me. :D

So, what do you say? Who's with me? Who's willing to sacrifice precious novelling weekend time for the joys of write-ins with practically-strangers? :D C'mon, Reading! Don't be shy!

The subject pretty much says it all... can't write much else since I don't know where to really start...

Well. My name is Sara, as you can see by location I live in a small town in the middle of no where which basically means I am a fifteen minute drive to any important place, like a mall or theater, and I am hoping to actually complete my novel this year while juggling a full time job (for the first time, the other times I was in college or had issues with being left alone). Not really sure how everything is going to turn out this year, but it always works out in the end!

Erie County - write-in on EUP campus?

I haven't heard of any Erie County write-ins yet . . . what would y'all think of a write-in on-campus at Edinboro University? The UC is *huge* and the majority of it is never actually in use . . . we could camp out in the little area by the cyber cafe, which would easily seat 10-15 people without anyone having to sit on the floor. We'd also be right next to both the Cyber Cafe and the food court, so anybody with a case of the munchies would be well-served, and as long as we were reasonably quiet and didn't make a mess, I'm pretty sure nobody would care (I know there was a write-in on campus last year).

Who's up for it?

Black Friday write-up at Collegeville Wegman's?

If you're going to get up at 4 a.m. so that you can risk life and limb for something ridiculous, something tells me it should be writing, not shopping.

I'm thinking that the Collegeville Wegman's would be ideal for a write-in on Black Friday. The marketplace area has free Wi-Fi, loads of different kinds of food, coffee, tea, beer, wine (there's a pub!) ... in short, everything one needs to write.

There's also a cozy room with booths off the main marketplace eat-in area (which is quite large). The store's open 24 hours (though I think the pub opens at 11 -- will call and confirm). Seems like the perfect pace to work.

Anyone up for that? What would be your preferred hours?

I'm from Crawford county (near Erie county as well), and I was just wondering if anyone was from the same area. Unfortunately I'm in West Virginia right now until the 19th of November for school, but I will have ten days at home for Thanksgiving break. And being a loyal Pennsylvanian, I've decided to elect PA elsewhere my home region and contribute my word count to us dedicated PA people. =]

I know there are a few of you in the area stalking out around here. I was invited, only just today! by the Barnes and Nobles in the Neshaminy Mall, by one of the store employees who also do NaNo to have a write-in. She spoke to her manager, who said it would be alright. Said that if there were 8 or less people, it would be no problem. 9 or more people and the store would be willing to work with us to get something set up for a write in. If you're interested or can make it, let me know. And what days?

Scranton and the NEPA Region

Hey PA Wrimos,

It's Ashley, aka The Brawn -- story at a later date about that one, if you'd like -- and just wondering if there are any folks writing this coming November in the NEPA region. That includes Lackawanna County, Wayne County if we want to stretch it, even Luzerne County if you want to go crazy. Every where in that 200 miles from New York range of Pennsylvania, including my stretch of town, Scranton (!!).

There might be some fun opportunities to crash random local coffee shops and book stores and do some late night/[early] morning [double feature etc etc] typing.

Do call out if you exist ("is there anybody alive out there?") and we'll see what we can do!
