Alright! So, I broke 85 K this morning and I'm through, dammit. All the stories have a....semi-coherent ending, and the plots are strong (I did just succeed in writing three novels-if you can call them all novels-....only one of which is truly over 50K...whoops?)
Anyways, I've gotta start studying for high school finals, midterms, and AP Tests, not to mention ACT/SAT, college apps, and personal family time (Yeah, i need to catch up on that, too XD)

So, Kiryuu is officially done with NaNoWriMo '09. Hope I contributed enough for you all's thanks and gratitude. ^_^

The Evening of Scribbling Recklessly is on 11/22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Nashville.

Where: 2300 Knights of Columbus Blvd.

Where? - This is the little road that runs along 1-40 near the airport. Take I-40 to Briley South, the first left is Knights of Columbs Blvd.
Alternately, take McGavock towards the airport. When it ends, the road becomes Knights of Columbus.
Their building is the only building on the road, and it's about halfway down.

When - 11/22 from 4-10 PM.

Important Notes:
$10 donation required for admission. This is in addition to any donation you've made.
Bring a side dish to share. Remember, we're pretty much all going to have computers handy, so stay away from really messy stuff. :)

We will be having a ton of giveaways.
You can get tickets for these givaways in a number of ways:
- Admission fee. Yes, you automatically get tickets for showing up.
- Bringing a dish to share like you're supposed to
- Wear a NaNo t-shirt. This can be from any year, and can be national or regional. I'll also accept Script Frenzy and Office of Letters and Light shirts for this.

- Additional tickets can be purchased.

IT's roughly from 1:00 or 1:30 till 3:00 or whenever. They have outlets, but bring your own extension cord.

They also have fabulous Indian food, cajun food, soul food, Chinese, Mexican, and there's a coffee shop.

IF this one is convenient for you, and you'll be downtown for it, you might conisder stopping by the Artsy Chicks Sale which will also be downtown on that same day! Good place to find art, crafts, jewelry, for yourself, or other holiday shopping.

I just want to have a little joy place here for people to pat themselves on the back for at least doing something--no matter how small--on their book every day.

Because as long as I've been a writer my worst problem (other than some really bad writing...) has always been showing up and just doing it. That's why I'm here, to enforce discipline and completion.

So, yay me for actually getting something done three days in a row. (I forgot to start on Sunday....see what I mean?) ;)

Anybody else out there feeling kinda good about sticking with it so far?

I have a question about online blogs. First off, yes, I have been sitting under a rock ever since I left undergrad and blogging never really interested me because most of my friends tended to use it smear the names of each other. It was a great drama fest for the times I was feeling bored and didn't want to play any more video games.

So now I am seeing that everyone has a blog of some type and that it can be used for something aside from catfights. However, there are so many sites to choose from. So my question is this: in your opinion, what is the best blog site and why do you think that?

Hey so, I'm writing a little here and a little there, (who know opening a new business could be so hard), but I could really use so encouragement, and some time with my fellow writers. So I really would like to do a "Writer's Sleepover" where we could hang out, eat, drink (water, of course), and try to write as much as you can in one night kinda deal. My partner's family is in town until the Nov 28th, so I was thinking about the 29th or 30th? Anyone up for the challenge? I was thinknig about holding it at the Cafe. Announcing the Evening of Scribbling Recklessly! This is our answer to the Night of Living Dangerously, since I know most people here in Nashville can't go to California this year.

What: A six hour long, prize filled, crazy write a thon!
Where: 2300 Knights of Columbus Drive || Nashville (Near the Airport)
When: Sunday, 22 November 4-10 PM

Admission:
Okay, guys. This is a big fundraiser event for NaNo. So, there's going to be a little bit of an admission fee.
It's a TEN DOLLAR donation to get in the door - cash preferred, or checks will be accepted. Please note. Part of the money will go to pay the room rental fee. But the location is huge and we have parking and it's all ours.

Also, because of our limited (read that as non-existant) budget, I'm asking that everybody bring a finger food-ey side dish to share. Remember, we'll be stuck there for six hours, so I'd hate to have you waste away to nothing.

With that all said, here's some other stuff.
Right now, my goal for us is a final word count of 50,000 words for the day.
Just to put in perspective how easy this goal is, if you can write the daily word count in under 2 hrs, that means each person can write about 5,000 words in 6 hours.. We'd only need 10 writers to make that goal. We can so do this!

The Week 3 Blargs

So I had my novel all outlines out, and around 22k words I made it through my outline.

And now I feel like everything I write from here on in is just needless filler. I feel like i'm writing drivel just to be writing SOMETHING pertaining to this novel, and I don't like it and i'm frustrated and I don't know where I want my novel to go.

I try to think of my novel as somebody else were writing it, and if I were reading it, what would I want to happen next? I can't figure it out though. I'm stuck. I don't know where to go and I now i'm pissy and I just want to play video games and eat pizza. But i'm only about 600 words ahead of the 1667 word minimum, and I know if I skip a day now i'll fall behind and never finish, and I WANT to finish, but I want to finish with something I can be proud of aside from "I pounded my keyboard enough times to churn out 50,000 words."

Anybody else having week 3 blargs? What are you doing to survive?

Cafe with a Cause(s) in Lebanon and NaNoWriMo

Hey guys, and gals. Just wanted to let you all know that because of the recent "Unemployment" stuation, I've been "forced" and by forced , i mean delighted to look into various other ventures. And one of those ventures is coming to reality. Two Roads Cafe, which has been planned for almost two months, and is finally coming to fruition! Now the cafe, located at 200 Maddox Simpson Parkway, Lebanon TN 37090, next to Sherlock's Books, does not officially open until December 1st, but it would be my honor , and priviledge, to have any kind of "Write In" there. Now I know Lebanon is a bit far for some people, but check out the website, www.tworoadscafe.com , and you'll see, and it's perfect for a public "Write In", even if the "Write In" is an end of November "Sleep Over" with lots of games, prizes, and fun writer's stuff! SO I hope this will become one of the major sponsors for future NaNoWriMo events, and I hope even as we get closer to the deadline, that it can help celebrate all the accomplishments of this year's events!
