How is everyone doing so far?

Gimme word count and status reporrt. Are you going strong, petering out, reaching a second wave, or wishing you'd never joined?

Personally, in my combined novels I've reached 10,097. That.. really doesn't seem so significant when you consider that I have 3,343 in my main NaNo and 6,754 in my YWPNaNo. I find I'm spending at least double the amount of time working on my YWP, or on some random thing I've found myself writing and daydreaming about which fits into the same universe as that.

Basically..

YWPNaNovel = Good stuff! Reaching for the second wave.

NaNovel = death. Death, death, death. Could go back and write several speeches for word padding, don't want to. Need to finish the verbal fight scene. =PP

So, I have what might be a stupid question incoming, and I realize I prolly ought to have thought of this before now...

I had two ideas come to me, so I'm currently writing two stories. Now, to make the 50,000 words mark for NaNo, do you have to choose just one story and only count that ones words or do you combine the two (since the words are all scrambled for word counts at the end anyway) and count the words then?

Bowing Out

I hate to do this, especially so early in the game, but it looks like I'm going to have to bow out this year. Domestic issues are forcing me to look for a new place to live sooner rather than later. That combined with trying to get my hypnotherapy business started means I probably won't have time for NaNo.

Which really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really--*GASP*--really, really, really sucks.

Also, I wanted to say that our very own Creative Writing theme house is doing a couple of writing parties for NaNo; they'er only open to UPS students, so if you're interested, send me a NaNoMail and I'll pass along the dates/times.

For those of us who straddle the line between Tacoma and Seattle, let's get together :) And, you know, everyone else is invited, too.

I've finally got one weekly time and place nailed down, so I'm announcing a semi-planned write-in!

Where: The Kent Regional Library, 212 2nd Avenue N., Kent, 98032. It's just across from Kent Station. Exact location within the library to be further specified soon.
When: Tuesday Evenings throughout the month, 7:30-ish to 9 PM. (You can come earlier, but I've got dance lessons. If you do come earlier, you can count on not being alone between 7:30 and when the library closes at 9, anyway!)

Bring yourself, your writing apparatuses, and maybe power strips if you've got them. Never hurts to have a few spare power strips, right? You can also reserve a library computer in advance through the King County Library System website for up to two hours, if you don't have a laptop. Just bring your nano on a flash drive, or save it to a website like Google Documents. (http://docs.google.com)

So, respond to discuss this series of write-ins or post your own for people on the far north end of Tacoma!

I was wondering if there would be any interest in a "plot planning" party this weekend to help brainstorm topics for next months challenge.

I have access to a self published author who is willing to share her ideas on developing plot and storyline for fantasy romance novels. I could also bring in other that are more genre specific.

This woul happen on Saturday (10/27) in the Covington area around 12 pm or 2pm.

Would anyone be interested?
