Well that is the headline the YHR should have for this story. I am actually in Sarajevo BiH, jebes zemelja ko Bosna nema! I feel very good to be all done a day ahead of schedule too. Please post an R.S.V.P. with a reply below, so I know whether I should just go out on the town by myself. Or if there are alternative ideas for a meeting location and time, I'm willing to travel. I'm just keeping in mind how many Olympic Peninsula residents don't like traveling after dark, but I have no problems with it.

There's going to be a new art show by a local photographer starting Dec. 1 at The Buzz with a reception at 6 p.m., if anyone is interested.

Also, I'm looking for a support group to keep me going through the editing -- and I'm going to begin putting various plotting charts, planning worksheets, tips for find agents, writers, and so forth on my writing site now that I'm not NaNoing. The site is:

Anyone from K/L around? There were two very agreeable women last year that I had write-ins with. I'd love to see them again and/or meet others!

Our old place (The old Luigi's, can't remember what it was when we went there), is now out of business. Well, it has been, but I'm a hermit of a teenager, and just learned this fact about three days ago. We could probably hang out at Sunrise Bagel's, and consume their bagels and coffee. They also have wifi, which is an added bonus. Unless anyone knows of a coffee place in the area that does refills (last year's haunt had free refills of the house drip) and has wifi/plenty of outlets?

Please please come out of your hiding-holes, my local NaNo'ers! I know you exist, and I don't bite!

Salutations from Olympia/Thurston county/the greater Olympic peninsula and SW Washington Community!

If you haven't yet associated with Olympia, or would like to, we encourage it! Stop by our reader boards for some inspiration and news from the area plus info on our TGIO party--if you can make it, you're welcome to join us!

On a more serious note, if you live even remotely near Olympia (Matllock... Shelton...Bremerton...Puyallup, I'm looking at you!) and might be affiliated but have NOT set Olympia as your "home region," PLEASE do so!

Owning up to semi-selfish reasons: we are in a serious WordWar with Salem, OR. Last year they barely eeked out a win, and we haven't heard the end of it since! This year we have been way ahead all month but it looks like they're pulling out some dirty tricks here at the end.

Currently we are less than 5K ahead of them. Anyone who affiliates with Olympia--and makes us their "home region"--will have their words added to our total, and to our Victory!

This year's theme is "The Hubcap of Shame." We're getting it all polished up to send down to them on December 1st when we claim victory.

So stand with your home state! Recognize that our capital is gloriously superior to theirs! Don't tolerate their snark! and GOOD LUCK with your writing heading into week 4!

Last Call for an P.A, Sequim or P.T. Writers

Right now I'm planning one last Sunday morning write-in starting at 9 a.m. at Itty-Bitty Buzz on First in Port Angeles.

I'm still up for meeting Olympic Peninsula NaNoers elsewhere and sharing experiences and discoveries. I think we ought to have an end of the months celebration. There's some folks in Seattle who are planning to meet post-NaNo to work on editing and revising their projects and I think it would be nice to have something on the Peninsula as well.

Anyhow, look for the grey-haired lady with the long scarf in various shades of pink and orange writing on a white iBook with black headphones on. I usually try to grab the comfy arm chair in the back room. And I'll spring for the mini-cinnamon rolls!

(I actually think I'm going to make both the 50K words and the end of the rough draft (in my case, Chapter 20).)

Wow, what an honor to have the very first post for the "Washington :: Elsewhere" group! I feel like I should type something profound, but nothing comes to mind.

I've been waiting a long time for the next NaNoWriMo. 11 months, to be exact. And of course, some big life-events occurred just a couple of weeks ago that has me questioning if I'll have time this year to participate. I sure hope to!

Looking forward to meeting all the people returning from last year and all the newcomers this year. Please post where you are all from. And if there's anyone around the Port Townsend area, please send me a note and say hi. Maybe we can meet up and get a cup of coffee somewhere.

Just a little bit of information for you all. Tuesday November 20th there will be a free writer's workshop at the Bainbridge branch of the Kitsap Regional Library from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The work shop is titled "From Student Writer to Published Author" The presenter is a published childern's author. Hope to see some of you there.

Need word count help

How the heck do you get a word count on this website? I saw the whole "API" thing, but I don't even know what "API" stands for. Do I just depend on the tools menu in Word to get my word count or is there actually something I can use on this website? I had heard about something where I could copy and paste my document...but I don't see it anywhere. I know I'm nowhere close to being successful at this, but it'd be nice to see how utterly I failed.

Hey all,

I'll be passing this along to deltasierra directly as well, but I wanted to let folks know that I'm going to try out Barnes&Noble this Friday at 6:30 for a bit of public writing. Come along and give it a try if you're interested. It offers more space than Olympic Coffee, is a bit more centrally located for those in the north end of the county, and I'm willing to give it a try.

If nothing else, drop by and listen to me plot new and interesting ways to silence my inner editor. I'll be the bristly baldy!
