Torchlight anyone?

New game by Runic Games:

www.torchlightgame.com

Free Demo gives 120 minutes of free play, so you get to about level 9-10 if you don't mess around in town, etc.

Basically, if you played Diablo I or II and enjoyed it, please check it out, it's quite a gem.

It's only $20, and they have a MMO in development as well.

I am having massive fun with this game!

Virtual Horse Sites

I did not know if anyone out here is into pet simulation games, but being a horse lover myself, I would have to recommend Pony to you.

WriMo Maplers!

So, I know I'm not the only person putting off NaNo to participate in Maplestory's x2 experience events, or to complete Cassandra's introduction to the Arans (is it just me, or was that terrible timing for us?)

I'm in Bellocan as my level 51 Dawn Warrior Gabrielleg if anyone wants to procrastinate with me.

Who else plays MS?

Fixing the Inaccurate Name "MMORPG"...

I've always been fascinated in how slow people are to change when facts are presented to them- for instance, the new millenium was in 2001, not 2000. Or the "number of the beast" is 616, not 666. Facts back this up, but people get stuck with familiarity and would rather be wrong than change!

Well, after hearing the "MMORPG" genre title for so long, I used my expertise in the field to analyze it, and realized how inaccurate it is! Now I could summarize my reasons here, but it'd be easier to link to the blog post I wrote. This is to my blogsite, but it's not a blatant ad- I put it on Hiatus and after learning of the impossibilty of breaking into blogging this late without cash, I'm converting it to a private vent space in December. So, no shameless sel-promoting here: Just trying to get other massively multiplayer gamers to recognize the truth and change their mindsets!

Take a look! (comments are disabled.)

if you disagree (or agree), what would YOU think they should be called, to differentiate them from other non-"MMOs"?

Regardless, have fun gaming!

Ragnarok Online: A Dying Race?

Hello thar! I play Ragnarok Online, a famous MMO that's still going. However, less and less peopleI meet know much about it. Are we RO'ers a dying race? Will my precious Professor eventually be lost in the sea of time?

(andto fellow RO'ers: Have any of you made a referrence to RO in your NaNo? I know I have.)

League of Legends wrimos?

Anyone here play league of legends? (or LoL as most would call it) It is a very strategy driven game, and I bet writers are great strategists. Invite me as a friend online if you play - Knifes, or ROFLKnifes, (Knives was taken, but I still freaking love those names)

QUERY: Non-Fantasy-based MMORPG?

Greetings, fellow gamers! Question for you all. Is there a good MMORPG out there that is not solely fantasy- or sci-fi-based? I'm a tabletop gamer myself, and I like single/two-person video and computer games, but I wanted to find one of these MMORPGs my friends who WoW have been raving about. I've been looking, but I haven't found one that interests me yet. I'm not a big fan of either pure fantasy or pure sci-fi, which seem to be the major choices. Have any of you all found one that's more horror-based? Or a mix of sci-fi and fantasy?

xbox live wrimos?

Howdy! I was hoping to find some fellow xbox live gamers with whom i might procrastinate writing the embarrassingly ghastly burgeoning romance portion of my novel! (It's ESPECIALLY horrible considering I, myself, have yet to experience any romance, let alone a burgeoning one...)
my gamertag is Ix Valkyrie xI

i'm pretty much going to be playing cod:mw2 religiously until Christmas, or gamefly delivers Borderlands or Dragon Age: Origins, and possibly even then :) but I do have some other games, so hit me up and I'm sure we'll find SOMETHING to play together!

Please...pretty please. I go on xbox live and I find NO one with even a spec of imagination or even the slightest appreciation for reading...it makes me forlorn =(.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!

Anyone else ridiculously excited about this game? I stayed up for the midnight release last night (got it from Blockbuster at midnight on the dot while everyone else was lined up outside Gamestop! Hehe) and then played it until 5:30 am! The campaign is better than I even imagined it would be, I'm in heaven and I haven't even really touched on the multiplayer or Special Ops missions!
I have to admit to being slightly (maybe more than slightly) concerned about what this is going to do to my goal for hitting 130k, but the month is still young, and who needs sleep anyway....right?

Any other WriMo cod players out there?
