Brief Author Bio: I'm a prison chaplain and I've worked with men and boys in strife for many years. I've also been writing short stories for many years, something that I started to do as a child when I had serious issues to deal with. Most of my short stories are about people who are traveling a dangerous journey within the mind. My recent novel is the story of a teenage boy at war with the world and with himself who starts on the journey of dealing with sexual abuse in his childhood. My current project takes one of the supporting characters of that novel and tells his story. |

Synopsis: Bundy
We first met Bundy in my first novel, They Told Me I Had To Write This. He is a dangerous bully and he sets fire to things. In that book he is a supporting character and there is little information about him apart from his appearances in the plot.
My NaNoWriMo novel tells the full story of Bundy. Where he came from, where he ended up, and tries to find out what makes him as he is. The book is much darker than the other, and there is a barely explained undercurrent of menace that holds the reader in tension, waiting for something important to be discovered.
At least, that's the plan.
Excerpt: Bundy
He looked up at the house. ‘Fuck you’, he said and spat at the window. ‘I wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire.’
He flicked a match across the side of the matchbox and watched it land on the petrol soaked grass cuttings. Then he walked up the driveway, away from the house and up the hill. He had already chosen the place from where he would watch. Behind him rose a wisp of smoke and the afternoon sighed with what was to come.
